Rowan watched the world with wide silver eyes, occasionally making small sounds that drew smiles and softened expressions. By midday we gathered in the amphitheater. Draven was brought out under heavy guard, wrists bound, red eyes locking on me and Rowan immediately. The obsession there was raw, unfiltered. The crowd murmured as Kael and I stood together on the central platform, our son visible between us. Kael’s voice rolled out, dominant and clear. “Draven sought to claim what was never his. Through serum, force, and lies. Today the packs see the truth.”

Not when Draven stood between us like the devil himself ripped straight from the stories meant to scare young pups into obedience. Except he was real. And worse, he was having fun. Elias pushed away from the altar with a snarl, folding over when his leg gave out again. Nora caught him, only barely steady on her own feet. I could see the shake in her arms, the way her flames stuttered around her fingers. She was on fumes. We all were. Draven didn’t miss it. Of course, he didn’t. “Is this the best Obscura has to offer?” he asked, striding towards them with a shake of his head. “A dragon too young to remember what she is, a crippled heir, and a mutt with more bark than bite?”

He staggered a lithe and one of his knees hit the ground—hard. “Draven—“ He couldn’t hear me. His eyes were locked on the man in red standing in front of us. A man that both he and Kael said was supposed to be dead. I have never seen Draven so heartbroken. “How…” his voice came out rough. “How are you alive?” "This man is related to you?" I asked in disbelief . This man who has terrified people for years is related to him? "Erik Blackthorn," Kael answered. "He's Draven's father younger brother."

Draven’s younger brother, Alaric. The virile young blonde was built for battle. With tousled hair dusted with darker sun-kissed shades and fierce blue eyes to accompany shoulders as wide as a wall and a chest thick enough, I certainly couldn’t reach around him. He was Draven’s guard and equally as feral as many of the other males that’d been inaugurated into the strange pack of collected riff raff. Edrick had done a good job after the wolf plagues. Even I could admit that.

“In every drop of your blood, Evelyn Cross.” Suddenly, the Blood Cult sigil on the floor ignited blazing red. Flames spiraled outward, forming a ritual circle. At its center, the air distorted and from it emerged a tall figure in a black cloak, silver hair cascading down, crimson eyes burning like the abyss. Lucien Draven. Evelyn raised her gun, but he only tilted his head, a faint smile on his lips. “You still don’t understand, do you? It was your Order that brought me back.”

The driver clicks to open the door and moves a bit to the sides. Dark red heavy shoes with a sharp point in the front land out of the gate on the ground. A light brown surcoat over a golden and white tunic sways out with a tall and wide man. The golden crown shines brightly on his head. Light brown skin with a darker shade of brown beards is under the green eyes.

The Helm of Awe covered my left shoulder and on my right was Valknut. Yggdrasil was in the middle and flowing from the roots of the tree was a wolf head. On either side of the wolf was a Jericho 9mm, Kiran’s personal touch to my Zeta mark. From the bottom of the roots, down my spine, was a ghost rune designed by Malachi with my name Jericho adorning the top of Yggdrasil. An hour and a half later Marcus was finished and I put my shirt back on. Tonight I would have to undress with every member of the pack present and shift for the first time in my life.

By the time the final body hit the ground, the courtyard was a sea of red. I stood at the center of it, breathing hard, my claws still dripping. Her father had fallen back, horror etched across his features. His council sat paralyzed, soaked in the blood of their own men. And there, calm as a midnight breeze, Draven leaned against a pillar, sipping his smoothie like we were at a tavern. He glanced at their confused faces. “He’s a Lycan, remember?” he said casually. “You don’t summon war and expect a welcome.”

I turn back towards the front and begin getting my stuff out when Kevin plops down next to me. "So where's your little boyfriend?" Kevin mocks. "What are you talking about?" I reply in annoyance. "You know the Draven guy at the festival the other day." Kevin says with a sirk. "You know what they say about the Draven's don't you?" He continues. "They say they are evil vampires and anyone who is around them for too long disappears never to be seen again." He finishes. Suddenly a loud thunk sound comes from my other side and I look to see Victor pulling out the chair next to me. I look back at Kevin who wears a smirk on his face.

Jason said as he walked towards the elevator, approaching a few of his friends. That caused Eric to stand to his feet, excited about the invite and pack all his belongings. He was scared of hand Draven what he had done, since he had not written anything on it. It was insanely horrible, that he was afraid of saying it was, hence why he did not correct anything, since he believed in correcting all the mistakes or none of them. He knocked on Draven's door, and when he heard him respond, he pushed the door open. Draven raised his eyebrows, "Eric, what's up?"
