Two boys were carrying the patient in—a young man, drenched in blood from the waist down. One of the boys spoke, his voice shaky. “He’s lost a lot of blood. We found him too late.” “Get him to table three,” I said, already pulling on my gloves. “IV line, fast. Start a pressure pack. Leah, page Adam—tell him I need him now.”
