Didn't I make myself clear?!" I snatched the tablet from her hands, rage shaking me as I saw a whole bunch of new character cards—none of them were the ones I'd been aiming for. I glared at Scarlett, but she just looked back at me with the most exaggerated expression of innocence, pouting like she was about to cry. "I—I was just curious. Everyone's playing this game, so I wanted to see what it was all about… I've never played games before, not back in the countryside…"

Jason tossed in the Ten of hearts, Johnson captured it with the King of Hearts, letting out a deep sigh. “I know you think you have this under your chin, but you're slipping, Mr. Jason.” Johnson chuckles as he plays the Eight of Hearts. Jason slipped in the Six of Hearts. More points for Johnson.

Irritated, I excused myself and stepped out into the hallway for a smoke.

Astonished, I shout. A scenic of my Lilith on top of Griffin, struggling to take his head off, and the human girl watching the scene horrifically. Her heartbeat are hammering so hard that I can hear them from here. The game proves exhilarating. Like I had read in Lucas's mine, the hotheaded human girl has a knack for getting supernatural beings angry, and she did it yet again. Any other day, I would be grinning hard at a terrified human but instead, my spine turns cold when my Lilith runs after her. The event of watching her fretful image offends and scares my monster.
