Jax sits down. "William? How old is Grace?" Neal asked. I look at him, confused. William looked at me for a moment before looking back at him. "23," He answered. "25," Dex corrected. William looked at him. "No, I believe she is 23." Dex hums. "Her birthday is May 10th, 1996. She is 25, about to be 26." William hums. "Grace?" He says. I look at William, irritated that he didn't even know.

Present day “Come on Grace, today is mommy’s first day and we can’t be late,” I say and Grace nods as she puts her shoes on. Grace is the happiest little girl to be around. She has just turned eight years old, and she is brilliant. She has good grades and everyone loves her. She is a ray of sunshine. We moved to New York last week. I found a job as PR to the New York Rangers and today is my first day. I have been following the team on social media for a while now and they have so many PR issues I know I am in for a big rollercoaster ride.

"I'm here to light candles and pray for Grandpa and Grandma, not you. So, you have no say in this." Just then, someone tugged at Uncle Liam's arm, while others started whispering among themselves. The tough decisions were Helen's to make. The following day, Chloe strode into the office and handed in her resignation. When she got home, she began to sift through the mountain of photos that chronicled the trio's shared history. Over twenty years of friendship had produced album after album of memories. Childhood games of house with Andrew and Stephen, middle school award ceremonies, college road trips... Each photo brought the past to life, as if she could step right back into those moments. However, those days were gone, and they did not matter anymore.

Lester looked at me with undisguised smugness, yet he still forced himself to put on a magnanimous act. He said, "It's okay, really.
