The Hollow King Novels & Stories

"This is an exchange, king, not a robbery. If you want my power, you can't hold back." Violet dove in, sensing Curzon's resistance as she delved into his shadows. Ghosts emerged, the last wisps of the Monarchs empowering Curzon. Chione's essence waved gold before Violet. Flames warmed her feet—the remnants of Queen Rabiah. Vines choked out the fire, showing King Kasimir's influence. Violet waded through it all until she found nothing but cold. It seeped into her bones, freezing her heart. The chill etched itself onto her skin, creating a blanket of lace. Violet wrapped the cold around herself and pushed it into the great hall.

Their smell gave them away. "Humans" grunted at me. How could they have? Asra sighed. "I was hoping so." I nodded and without thinking twice, I made my blades emerge from the darkness. How long had it been since I last got into combat? Maybe I was a little rusty, but it would certainly be enough to deal with those humans, after all, I was still the great black king and had that title for a reason. My body was shrouded in shadows and my eyes shone in a rosy hue, it meant only one thing: my enemies would become empty corpses.

Kael didn't look pleased, but he nodded. Moments later we were climbing the northern battlements. The storm hit us immediately, freezing wind and blinding snow, and the fortress stretched below with thousands of wolves preparing for battle. Archers lined the walls, warriors gathered in the courtyard, the entire pack stood ready. Then I saw them. My breath caught. The Hollow Kings. Five figures stood beyond the gates, only five, and somehow that was worse, far worse. They wore black armor that seemed forged from darkness itself, silver crowns resting upon their heads, their faces appearing almost human, almost. Their eyes glowed with pale moonlight, ancient, me

One. Two... Three... Four... Five... Six... The mountain trembled. A deep voice echoed once more. "Final authorization acknowledged." The doors slowly began to part. Only a few inches. Just enough for darkness to seep through. Within that darkness... Golden eyes opened. Orion. The Hollow King. He stepped into the narrow opening, no longer a monster of smoke, but the man Raven had seen in her memories. Tall. Strong. Wearing ancient black armor. There was sadness in his eyes.

Supernaturals—especially vampires—healed faster. Except... they were given substances to slow that ability. The king began to speak, and the low murmuring seized. “You all know one of the things I hate,” he paused, locking ice-blue eyes with Erin. “Being taken for a fool. Do you know these guys?” Erin’s babbling would have been comical if this weren’t a pivotal moment in the case. I didn’t feel like laughing—I wanted to hear the truth. “N-not at all, my king. I—I have never met them before.”

one barked. “How dare you show such disrespect to the Royal Bloodline of the Northern Vampire King!” Gabriel stared at my son, then at me—his face draining of color. “The… Northern Vampire King’s royal family?” He turned slowly toward my father, seated upon the high throne, his expression cold and impenetrable. And then—astonishingly—Gabriel laughed. “Isabella,” he said loudly, “so this is how you survived? You married some half-dead old—”

He didn't say anything, just wanted to see a good show and see their stupid appearance. "The truth? When was I kept in the dark?" Mr. King opened his thin lips again, and his dumb voice was sarcastic. Staying calm, I didn't react to what he was saying at that time. Mr. King plays with the pistol around his waist, and his eyes are full of strange bloodthirsty air. An Dingran eyes stare big again, and the whole person is like falling into icehouse, which will condense into ice sculpture in the next second.

Hotham asked and looked around. "What do you mean? You didn't see them?" "Who are they, Empaler Aegaeus?" "No, no." And he turned away. "Empaler, here we are," said Filia Matsya. "All right." And they followed into the kingdom hall. "Basileus Kousuke, Empaler Aegaeus is here," said the famulus. "I am coming," replied the king. When Basileus Kousuke came out and saw Empaler Aegaeus was stunned and stared. "Prince Cacao..." he said here.

I started. "As you all know, voting for Homecoming King & Queen are Thursday 'till five on room 222. The nomenies are... For Queen, Mckenzie Gordon, Britney Williams, Tiffany Davis, Hanna Smith and Ziigwan Woods. For King, Cole Cook, Hunter Moore, John Brown, Logan Miller and King ThunderBird..." I couldn't help it I stared at King for five seconds he was watching me and whisper "Go on Ogimaakwe. Don't be wierd." No one heard. too much cheering inside the Cafeteria.

“King of all Kings is the name we refer to King Rainard.” Now we frowned. “King Rainard has been dead for many tides,” spilled out of my lips. “Right,” the merman beamed like a merchild solving a riddle no one could. “But, there is a King of all Kings alive.” “The Prince,” Aquant all but growled. “Yes!” The merman cheered. “Find him and you will find this run-away sea witch. We thought about people who have run-away recently and the only person we can come up with that knows or who can figure out everything is—”
