Irvine stepped closer, gun trained on Alexander, her lips twisting into a cruel smirk. “Put her back! Now. I want all of her blood. Do you understand? My mother will live again because of her blood.”
My head swam. The room tilted. The cold apparatus from before glimmered in the corner, a machine designed to drain me, to take everything. My body refused to obey. Every movement felt like moving through molasses.
