Inside the house, everything looked too perfect, too clean to be real. The walls were painted pure white, so white that they almost glowed under the golden lights. The floor reflected everything, smooth and shiny like glass. Even the air smelled expensive. My eyes caught the line of maids standing by the wall, each one dressed in a neat black and white uniform. They stood in a perfect row, hands folded in front of them, eyes down. None of them dared to look at me. It was as if I were something sacred or cursed. “Our lady’s room has been arranged,” said one of them. She was older than the rest, with sharp eyes, her hair neatly pinned back. From the way she spoke, I knew she was the chief maid

“You must be tired from the journey. Rest well tonight. You’ll start tomorrow morning.” She turned to leave, but Tessy’s unease bubbled over. “Wait!” she called. “Is this… is this how the other maids’ rooms are? Like this?” Her words stumbled out, awkward and desperate. Lilly blinked, confusion crossing her face. She glanced around the lavish room, then back at Tessy. “Honestly? I’m just as confused as you are. But you must be… special.” “What?” Tessy asked sharply. “The maids’ quarters are downstairs. They’re nothing like this. Only Margaret stays upstairs. But since you’re here as the assistant head maid, you’re next in line. This is your place.”

She turned, her black orbs glaring daggers at me. "Babe, who is this?". She asked him, her eyes scanning me in disgust. "My housekeeper". Not the truth but a little better off than the truth. "Ohh, a new maid!". I clenched my teeth at her use of the word maid. "Better off than Stella anyway". She added.

You call for me ma'am"" "Yea I wanna know the total maid in the house if there's any free place where I can assign her" The man brought out a book and check through it "The young Miss Sofia,Mrs Smith daughter has 15 maids,the first floor 11,the second floor 9"he stopped " the young master has no maid" "What about the maids I assign for him??" Mrs smith said "He send them away" Mrs smith exhale "Assign Darcie as his personal maid" she said

She beckoned on the ladies to come into the room, and when they got to close range, she spoke to them. "Introduce yourselves.” "Good morning ma'am. I'm Linda, the maid in charge of doing the laundry" the first one said. "I'm Maureen, the cook," the other said. "I'm Mercedita, the housekeeper. My work is to keep the house clean" the third said. "I'm Gladys, I'm in charge of the dishes. I run little errands here and there" the last one said. “I'm Helen, the chief maid. I'll do nothing but supervise the others. Be rest assured, you're in good hands because I handpicked them myself, and I wouldn't do anything against the Sutherland family” Helen said.

Then the maid slammed the door of the closet and and left the room. I slowly began to look at the layout of the room. The maid's room was not much furnished except for the beds and a few chairs. There was a yellow lamp beside the bed, and the chairs were obviously rotten and not getting the chance to be replaced. I thought of Emily, the woman who could safely be a blood slave in Leonardo Elliot's house, who dressed and spoke differently from the blood slaves here. Perhaps Leonardo Elliot was the supreme authority, so his blood slaves were different from other blood slaves.

Maritha replied. "We have at least five maids, a cook, a gardener and a driver. Maritha, please kindly indtroduce them to your Madame." Alec solemnly ordered. "Yes, Sir. Madame, this five women beside me are Wendy, Thina, Alona, Georgia and Rosa who is in charge of the daily housekeeping of the household." Maritha motioned the five women wearing a navy blue maids uniform beside her. The girls gave her a warm and genuine smile which she return in kind.

With a happy heart, Emily stepped into the area of the house that looked very quiet. Emily gulped, how could she possibly be able to clean every corner of this house by herself? When the main door opened, Emily was even more surprised to find several housemaids doing their jobs. If the Specter family had this many servants, why would they want to hire a new employee for such a high fee? Emily began to feel strange. "You are Emily Clark?" a middle-aged maidservant greeted her expressionlessly. Emily nodded her head. "Follow me," said the maid as she walked straight ahead of Emily, behind her she followed awkwardly.

I thought as I arranged my shirts on the rack, according to colours, just how my Mum used to do it. Soon I heard a door opening, I went into the room, but my door was still locked, I still heard movements. I hoped the maids still remembered that this was my wing of the house and nobody was allowed here. I stepped out and noticed the room opposite mine was open, I stepped in and saw the new House maid , Miriam or Mara, I wasn't sure really. She was changing the sheets on the bed and dropping in soaps in the bathroom like someone was coming here. I hoped not. We would frustrate anyone that stayed here until they left, the voice in my head spoke and I completely agreed for once today.
