Romans & histoires The Hunting Party Summary

The hunter leader smiled again. “You thought we’d bring just a hunting party?” My chest tightened. “This is an army.” “Yes.” He looked almost pleased. “And now the real hunt begins.” The motorcycles spread out instantly, forming a wide circle around the clearing. Hunters dismounted smoothly, raising their weapons. The wolves were surrounded again. But this time it was worse. Much worse. Because these hunters weren’t just armed. They were prepared for war. Adrian stepped slightly in front of me. His eyes glowed brighter now.

Instead, he charged into the woods, screaming for his pack to follow him. It was time for hunting. *** "Do you know how embarrassing it was for you to just walk away from me like that, Landon? What were you thinking?" Sylvie shouted. Her piercing voice made him flinch, and he caught several people looking over at them. Perfect. The hunt had been epic. They all hunted together, and the scent of roasted deer filled the air. Even Scarlett was joining in on the fun. He could see her catch a rabbit and strut back to the yard, beaming with pride.

Tia was now out, but he didn't know what exactly was going on. I rushed away from his side, wanted him to follow after me, and he did. The night was cold, the moon was bright, and the trees casted their shadows downwards as we ran around in the woods, looking for what to hunt. Since there was a timing on the hunt, we returned quite early with some spoils. The people turned back to their human form as well as ourselves, and the main party began. The music buzzed around, and the heap of wood was made to catch fire.

“Then let the hunt begin!” Shouts of glee filled the air as the trumpeters announced the release of the fox. Several of the horses chomped at their bits, ready to take off as well, but as the small, red-tailed fox shot out across the castle grounds, the riders restrained their rides, waiting for the signal to pursue. The dogs would be released next, and then the Representatives would be allowed to give chase, followed by the rest of the party. Kit would ride alongside her men because she wanted to observe them through the process. She was well-aware Frick would be difficult to catch, but whomever was sly enough to corner him would be able to call him out as well. On one recent hunt, no one h

Was it my fault? Did he regret what we had done in my tent? Or was it something else? Something darker that I didn't know about yet? Anguish consumed me inside. But on the outside... I smiled. I pretended. Because I couldn't break down now. Not after coming this far. The event began to be officially presented. The elders and advisors, one by one, explained the rules of the hunt. The participants would have a few hours to prepare—check their weapons, choose their best horses, and organize their teams.

I have no idea why I didn't notice this before, but now that I did, it was hard to ignore. The back side of the pack house conveniently faced the woods, which made it easier for werewolves to shift and go for a run. After I stood awkwardly on the stage throughout the announcement, Harper whispered in my ear that every wolf would now take part in a celebratory hunt. My eyes widened at the word hunt but Harper just chuckled at my response. "We just hunt down three deer as a pack to show our unity and those same deer will be enjoyed in the dinner. Nothing brutal."

I finally lifted my eyes, just enough to show him he had ten seconds to get to the point. He swallowed, as he stared at me, right into my eyes. “The annual pack hunting outing is tomorrow,” he said. “I remember you used to love attending it." he added. The hunting game was indeed tomorrow, and I remember everyone in the pack used to anticipate the activity then, I and Hailey wasn't excluded. we would put on our best dress to watch different warriors hunt the biggest animal. I didn’t answer him. I just cut another piece of steak and chewed slowly.

I was trying so hard not to be, but it’s difficult when she’s here and I can’t leave. “I don’t know. Is it true what they said?” “What did they say?” I replied, not sure what news had gotten to Suzie’s pack. She didn’t attend the party, even though we did send out an invitation. Some things we had tried to keep under wraps; Raiden didn’t want everyone to know about Lana, I guess. Suzie sighed, “there are different rumors going around. One of them is that one of the hunters came inside on fire, like a suicide bomber almost, trying to set the pack on fire.”

*** The weather was beautiful on the day of the hunting. The hunting team gathered by the front gate of the castle and then headed out to the designate hunting site together on horseback. The sun bathed the landscape in a warm, golden glow, casting a majestic hue over the sprawling mountains. The elders from the House of Light, all dressed in rich hunting attire, moved gracefully on horseback, flanked by a vigilant escort of soldiers and guards. The crisp mountain air kissed Aurora’s cheeks as she rode alongside the royal entourage through the towering peaks, with Clemente by her side.

The hunters pounced on the opportunity, displaying their exceptional skills as they captured not just game they knew but the enigmatic newcomers as well. As the sun dipped below the horizon, bathing the enchanted forest in a warm, golden glow, the hunters decided it was time to return to the heart of Nampa. Their successful hunt filled their spirits with a sense of accomplishment, and they couldn't wait to share their bounty with their pack. The wolf who had led the hunting party took the initiative to select four members to transport the four mysterious creatures back to the central assembly place, where Luna, Alpha Burst, and the elders would examine them. The hunters knew it was vital to
