He growled in a wolf's voice: "There is a demon king out there, Eva! You are the last of the Rose witches! Do you have any idea what he might do for your blood? You are not going anywhere!" But that move had drained the very last drop of Eva's patience. In an instant, she spread her palms open and awakened the witch within. With violet embers flickering in her eyes, violet fire blazed from her hands. "You were right! I am the last witch of the Rose bloodline, and there is no one else like me , no one to match my kind, my power! Now get out of my way. Because if I have to trample you to pass, don't you dare put on the drama of 'You were always a traitor, Rose girl!'" she screamed. Mystical en

I brushed it away, revealing the title etched in fading letters: The Lost Howl of Lysara. My heartbeat quickened. Lysara the last known healer wolf before me. Cradling the book gently, I sank onto the cold stone floor. The weight of it rested in my lap, heavier than it looked, like it carried more than just words like it held a warning. I opened the cover. The scent of aged parchment rose up, sharp and almost bitter. The first page trembled between my fingers, stained and yellowed by time. My eyes scanned the opening lines, and my breath caught.

How could a wolf-less outcast, a girl from the slums who couldn't even shift, manage to capture the hearts of both Denzel and the Royal Alpha Prince? Kenny blinked in total disbelief, looking between Denzel and Alexander, while Vanya let out a low, breathless whistle. The secret was out. Everyone now knew the reality of the war being fought in the back of this truck. I ignored their staring eyes, keeping my gaze locked onto Alexander's tense, handsome face. "We don't know that yet, and that doesn't give you the right to act like a possessive tyrant!" For the first time since I had met him, Alexander’s fierce, stoic composure cracked.

"the last of the powers left in the firebird were drained out by twenty powerful five hundred year old witches and she slowly lost consciousness and fell to the ground, dead. The dragon was the last one standing and he only had a little life left given that he was already old. All the witches turned to him and began to drain out his whole powers, he couldn't do a thing and when he tried to breath out ice on them and it only came out like snow flakes. "aaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhh! " She shouted as the last of his immortal powers was finally sucked up, he felt himself fell from the ground and then he felt really light. He could not register his sense well but he could certainly feel that he was not s

The day I find out my wife, Astrid Miller, has cheated on me while pregnant with my child, I begin to suffer from depression. The 99th time I take the pill, hoping to end my life, my baby daughter, Naomi Sage, wails in her stroller. My buddy, Ethan Wilde, digs the pill out from my throat. When Astrid sends me to the ER, she makes me a promise out of sheer guilt. "Charlie, I want you to write down a wish for every single day you remain alive. When you finally get better, I'll grant all your wishes." The day I write down my 1000th wish, the psychiatric hospital releases me. Elated, I go home early to surprise my family, only to find my wedding photo has been replaced with a wall of unfamil

Fenrir spoke, diverting my attention. “That was fast.” I spoke. “Of course, I’m actually useful.” He spoke, giving Damon a death glare. “I’m listening.” I said. “When you mentioned the entity being a shadow or rather a dark shadow that granted wishes in exchange for souls I thought that sounded familiar—anciently familiar.” He pulled out a book, “Hey, librarian, know about this?” The book was old, with the back pages already peeling off. It read in bold, vintage font, “Elemental Werewolves: The Curse of The Dragon.”

Knowing Asher, he's going to tease me for a decade. Before I can say anything more, Coral bursts into the room excitedly. " Guess what I found?” I shrug and rise to my feet to return my first aid kit. I return to my bed and take a seat next to Asher since Coral has claimed the chair. " Well,” she drawls out, bringing out her phone. “I texted Connor and asked him to send me one of his e-books on ancient Wolfkind history. While going through one of them I found out something related to your magic."

*Flashback* I stand to the side and watch as the witch sniffs the air and calls Desirey an imposter. The pure joy my dragon and I feel as she makes her drop to her knees. Then she does something strange, she walks up, slips a glove off and touches a finger to Desirey’s forehead. The witch’s head snaps back and her eyes glow even whiter than normal. It’s only a split second but I watch as she removes her hand, says something in her ancient tongue and I see them all blink before she slips that glove on and walks away with Bjorn chasing her like a love sick puppy.

The runes glowed black, not red, not gold, but black, swallowing the light around them. I whispered the name. Once. Then again. "Kaer’zhul." And the air split. No flash. No fire. Just an absence. Like something swallowed the wind. Then… it spoke. A voice like a thousand blades scraping stone. "Witch." My bones ached just hearing it. "You call my name. You drag me from my pit. Why?" “I have work,” I said calmly, pressing my palms to the edge of the circle. “A kingdom of light needs dimming. A false queen needs breaking.”
