Mated To My Promised Alpha

Mated To My Promised Alpha

I wish I had tried a little harder, as this system wasn’t making any sense and giving me a headache. I feel a pair of eyes burning into the back of my head and when I turn; I see Elio’s face once more. My stomach does a little flip before I blink and realises it’s just the librarian coming up behind me. “Do you need help, dear?” she gives me a warm smile and just shakes her head before she nods and turns back to placing the books on the shelves.

The Ninth Cipher

The Ninth Cipher

The hooded man slowly walked toward one final bookshelf standing alone in the center of the chamber. Unlike every other shelf... This one held only a single book. Its cover was completely black. No title. No symbol. Only a silver lock. The stranger rested his hand upon it. "For thousands of years..." "...someone has watched every Keeper." "They never interfered." "They only observed." Adrian frowned. "Why?" "Because readers never change a story..." "...until they dislike its ending." A cold wave passed through the library. Several lamps flickered. For the first time, the endless white sky above them darkened.

I crossed my arms defiantly. “If this relates to them, then I have a right to be involved.” Noah observed the exchange in silence. Finally, Darian sighed heavily. “You will stay right by my side throughout this.” A small smile appeared on my face. “It’s a deal.” Twenty minutes later, we reached the decrepit archive building adjacent to the council hall. Outside, two guards were stationed while another one scoured the vicinity with a lantern in hand. The elderly librarian appeared on the brink of a breakdown. His disheveled gray hair and trembling hands conveyed his distress.

he asked. The Librarian glanced toward the far end of the hall, where a narrow side staircase climbed to the upper archive balcony. "I have not identified the observer," he said. "Only the pattern." Kael's attention sharpened. "Pattern." "Yes," the Librarian said. "You arrive. The observer arrives shortly after. When you leave, they leave later, but not immediately. They do not read or borrow, but ask questions, and only watch." Kael slowly walked into the room, trying to appear casual but failing, as most people do when they know someone is watching them. He moved to the return counter and set the book down. "How long?" he asked.

COLD STEEL, BLEEDING HEARTS

COLD STEEL, BLEEDING HEARTS

Each frame held someone—a girl sobbing, a boy clutching green lightning, others sleeping, dreaming, trapped. Maya’s heart pounded against her ribs. Sweat chilled her skin. She wasn’t alone. The Rossi Company hadn’t just made a Queen—they’d stacked the whole deck with “special” cards. “Look at them,” the Librarian whispered. Her voice came from behind Maya now. Maya spun around. The bathroom was gone. She stood on a black glass floor, the Librarian looming in a gray dress that seemed to swallow the light. The Librarian reached out, fingers long and pale.

The Lycan King's Outcast Omega

The Lycan King's Outcast Omega

"Double the patrols, set more wards—" "And stretch our resources thinner?" Another council member interrupts. "We're already—" "Enough." I don't raise my voice, but the authority in it silences the room. My lycan paces beneath my skin, agitated by the threats to our territory, to our mate— I clamp down on that thought. Hard. Movement at the door catches my eye. Ms. Winters, our ancient librarian, hovers at the threshold, her wire-rimmed glasses glinting in the morning light. Her gaze holds mine with unusual intensity.

“How are you going to properly research it? Unless you plan to live in the library?” Well…” My eyes bulge. “There are only two copies of that book?” “Unfortunately,” he nods. “Have you noticed how closely the librarians have been watching us since we took it from the shelf?” I turn slowly, finding every single librarian at the front desk eyeing us. A stiff smile crosses my lips as I twist back to face him. “I heard that book is special. I didn’t realize it was that special.”

Lupus Noctrine: Symphony Of The Cursed Lycan Quadruplets

“Something that belongs here. Something that hasn't moved in ten thousand years.” The movement solidified. From between two towering rows of archives, a figure emerged. It was skeletal and hunched, its ancient robes stiffened and saturated with the glowing silver dust. Its movements were dry and rapid, a soundless skittering that raised the hairs on Evangeline’s neck. Where its eyes should have been, there were only empty, bone-white sockets, yet they fixed instantly on the intruders. “A Wyrd Librarian,” Selene hissed, drawing a long, slender silver dagger. “They were scholars sworn to protect the archive. They look… petrified.”

THE SUBSTITUTE MATE FOR THE ALPHA KING

THE SUBSTITUTE MATE FOR THE ALPHA KING

And standing before it, with their back to us, was a figure. They were tall, clad in simple, grey robes. As they turned, we saw their face was androgynous and ageless, their eyes the color of a calm, deep sea. There was no malice in their gaze, only a profound and weary curiosity. “You are the paradox,” the figure said, their voice a soft, clear chime that filled the silent library. “We have been waiting for you. We are the Curators.” The hive mind. The master assassins. They were not a weapon of chaos. They were librarians.

Curse of the Wolves

Curse of the Wolves

The other side was identical, only the stone was dark as night itself. When paired together, it looked as though the creatures were readying to battle one another. Beside the doors stood those twin Gods that had offered me a choice. Even etched in stone, I recognized the sly tilt to their lips, and could practically hear their lilting voices unfurling in my head. “There’s a plaque over here.” Draco grunted, capturing our attention. He wiped part of the wall with his hand, smoothing away a thick layer of dust. His brows furrowed as he read, “Beware the Librarians who gave sight for sound. Tread quiet and swift, or you’ll never be found.”

I love this story so much that I kept reading, not realizing it was already four in the morning, and I had to wake up to take my kids to school at 7. every story by this author is beautifully written and addictive, but I love the humor and the strong female character in this story the most.
