The State library system probably hadn't been upgraded since her Dad had been in school and it often sent students on wild goose chases for books that had been removed weeks before, or that were in a different place entirely, or that no longer existed at all. They loomed before me, untouched, undisturbed. I pushed them open. Darkness swallowed me. The library was unlike the rest of the house. No windows, no natural light. Just endless shelves stretching toward the ceiling, filled with books older than I was. The air was heavy. I stepped inside, my fingers trailing over the spines of the books as I scanned the tiles. And then— I saw it. A single book, slightly pulled from the shelf. I reached for it, tugging it free. The moment I did, something clicked.

I said, grinning from teeth to teeth like a child. We walked into the library. It looked like it had been a while, since it was in use. We went through several sections which included, finance, self-improvement, ethics, business amongst all. I caught a glimpse of a book I had been wanting to read, “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. I picked it immediately, and started going through it. After a while, I noticed I wasn't hearing any sound from the cook. I looked around and found her wiping tears off her eyes with the hem of her apron.

After he was gone, Liana asks me whether I had any specific book in mind, and when I mentioned mages, she guided me to the last aisle. “This is the only section we have,” she murmurs, sounding almost apologetic. I plaster a small smile in reply. The library is more like a storeroom for books than anything else. I returned the book and borrowed the book 2 for that book, just like the first book that has fifty three chapters, this second one also has the same number of chapters whereby one chapter has about two thousands plus words. I finished the second book also and returned the book but after returning that one, I could not see the book three for that same book. I knew the book was supposed to have book three. On getting back to the library to return the second book and borrow book three, I could not see it there. I asked the library keeper about it, he said there was no book there. I had to argue with him that the book has book three but he insisted and later asked me not to say anything about. H

Ellie’s POV The library was smaller than I expected, really just one long room at the back of the meeting house. But it was packed full, the shelves stretching all the way from the floor to the ceiling. Small, but mighty; exactly what I needed. The section on local plant life was tucked between a section on historical accounts and fiction novels, which was an interesting method of organization, to say the least. To my dismay, there were only three books in the entire section. Not so mighty, I supposed.
