“From someone who has been searching for you both since the day you were born.” “Who?” Nicholas asked, his hazel eyes narrowing. Kathy’s gaze snapped to him, a questioning look crossing her face. “He is my mate,” I said, crossing my arms. “Answer his question.” Kathy and Ben exchanged another glance, something unreadable passing between them before they looked back at us. “The Lycan King.” We all froze. A Lycan King? What on earth were they talking about? I let out a dry laugh. “And is the flying tooth fairy after us too?”

Its fur was midnight black, swallowing the faint moonlight, its chest covered in thick, silver battle scars, and its eyes—a piercing, luminescent gold—stared directly into my soul. The Lycan King. He lunged forward, pinning me to the wet earth, his massive, clawed paw pressing firmly into my chest. I opened my eyes, waiting for him to rip my throat out. But the moment his nostrils flared, inhaling my scent, the murderous rage in his golden eyes shattered into pure shock. And deep within my soul, the freezing vacuum violently flipped, screaming with absolute, undeniable certainty: MATE.

" With a dramatic sigh, Clara put down the tray. Lady Kattie was that. For years, she has been the front-runner to mate with the Lycan King. She has the solid support of even the elders. Despite everything and the King's condition, they believe she is His Majesty's ideal match. I cautiously took a seat on the bed's edge. "Despite everything," what do you mean? What is the condition? Clara leaned in closer, obviously enjoying the opportunity to chat. Her eyes glistened. "The King is in a dreadful rut. Every month, it strikes him like a curse. He gets nearly unmanageable and extremely hostile. It has never been fully calmed by a woman. Many have tried and failed miserably, but Kattie used to c

She quickly agreed, stating that we were always meant to be. And I guess a part of me does think she made a… decent point. She is Lycan after all, and not only that, but a royal, too. Tomorrow, this will all be official.’ I told Excalibur and he was about to say something else, but decided to cut him off.

Lucas was drawing in and out long, audible breaths, his temper was slowly climbing up to reach the sky. Lucas tilted his head and said, squint-eyed, "So, Lycan King Gian gave you the permission to organize this Mate Matching Ceremony of yours!" To this, Owen had a big, beaming smile on his face and he said with a chuckle, "Ofcourse! It's not difficult to take permission from the Lycan King as it is to have your permission, Lucas!"

The pack elder, Alfred, stepped forward with a heavy sigh, his aged but authoritative voice carrying across the silent hall. “Since an event like this has never happened before, the young lady must undergo a series of tests to determine whether she is truly fit to become the Lycan Queen.”Matteo’s face turned stone-cold, his aura flaring with barely contained fury. “Why would my mate need to take a series of tests?
