"The twelve main Olympians are: Zeus (Jupiter, in Roman mythology): the king of all the gods (and father to many) and god of weather, law and fate. Hera (Juno): the queen of the gods and goddess of women and marriage. Aphrodite (Venus): goddess of beauty and love. Apollo (Apollo): god of prophecy, music and poetry and knowledge. Ares (Mars): god of war. Artemis (Diana): goddess of hunting, animals and childbirth. Athena (Minerva): goddess of wisdom and defense. Demeter (Ceres): goddess of agriculture and grain. Dionysos (Bacchus): god of wine, pleasure and festivity.

"don't mess with her.").

Fear, strife, misery, jealousy, lust. Gaea also had many children who were to aid the creation and preservation of her light. Her children were known as the Titans. These Gods also went on to have children. Many of these Gods were knowledge keepers like Themis the Goddess of justice or Cruis, the God of constellations. Others were protectors and given domains to care for and protect.

Apollo played his lyre as Pan played his reed pipes. Venus, who was bound by her sacred oath tried to treat her daughter-in-law with respect. Then after being intoxicated with joyous drink and laughter, she took to the floor to the strains of sweet music and danced prettily. She organized the performance so that the Muses sang in chorus while the satyrs played the flutes. Psyche was once again wedded to Cupid, the goddess of love. They sat encircled in each other's arms. Their beautiful smiles mirrored one another, and the two young goddesses leaned in for a loving kiss.

I was drawn to the painting, and I asked the attendant about it. I stopped to have a better view and knowledge of it. The museum attendant noticed I wasn't following and looked back. A smile spread across his lips as he saw me admiring the painting. “What's this beautiful piece?" He walked back to me as he answered, "That's a depiction of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. Have you read about Greek mythology?” “No, I've not read about it. I know the name Aphrodite, but I'm not quite familiar with her story. Can you tell me more about her?"
