The next morning, as Trent stood in front of the kitchen window drinking his coffee, he debated whether or not to close the blinds. He looked across the yard towards his neighbor’s house. It appeared empty. With a small shrug, he decided to keep the blinds as they were. She had probably got bored of watching him at that point. He was something new. Trent understood that, just as he knew he wasn’t the most exciting person.

I guess you could say she was a house help, but I could tell that she meant so much more to the family. My parents doted on her and did most things on their own anyway, in fact, it seemed like they kept her here as more of a companion than a help. "So, who lives next door?" I questioned as we waited for some parfait, curiosity of the man I had seen earlier getting to me. "Next door?" My mother looked at me confused for a second before her eyes lit up in realization. "Is that Damon Anderson? Yes, well a young man by name of Damon crowther Anderson he visits here once in a while, he lives next door."

I ignored him and went to lie down on the opposite side of the bed. "You didn't?" He pressed, feigning shock. "The children must have, they have nearly nothing to do and since the neighbors are far, they have no children to play with." Julien put back the dress and lay beside me. This apartment was an inheritance from Ted's parents, and it was older than both of us combined. The soundproofing was practically nonexistent, and you could hear everything the neighbors did—washing vegetables, showering, or even flushing the toilet. The downstairs neighbor suffered from neurasthenia. If we made even the slightest noise at night, she'd come knocking on the door. Yet, despite Ted chopping away nonstop for the past two days, none of our neighbors had made a peep.

Third person's POV The following morning, Connor decides that he is going to meet the new neighbor. He is curious about the new neighbor, who only knows the older couple. And the older aunt used to give him cookies and sweets. He hopes his new neighbor is also as friendly. He sneaks out while his mom is still sleeping. He knows she does not sleep much during the week as she always works late, so he leaves her to sleep late on Sundays. Conner knocks on the door and remembers his mother telling him not to talk to strangers. Perhaps he should turn around. What if the neighbor is a serial killer? He did not think about it.
