My heart beats wildly in my chest as the sounds of the night reach my overstimulated mind, and my ears pound like a jackhammer. We’re both breathing harshly as we look back into the distance and watch warily as Hunter steps out of the car and shoots at an approaching SUV. Several men step out of the SUV and begin to shoot.
