You’ve heard of them… but I doubt you’ve seen what they do.” Lilith’s stomach tightened. “You mean like—silver bullets and wooden stakes?” Nathan huffed out a humorless laugh. “If only. That’s for rookies. Real hunters?” His gaze flicked toward the treeline. “They use Anasazi symbols, wolfsbane, silver-tipped arrows… and fire. Especially for us.” His voice dropped lower. “Fire’s the only thing that works on a Wendigo.” “You’re saying… they know there’s one of us here?” she asked.

I glance over at the fire and notice that it has died down and all that is left are a couple embers. Realizing that it must be only four or five, I try to fall back asleep by closing my eyes, but then I hear another noise and it seems like it is getting closer and closer by the second. I open my eyes just in time to see a hunter leap into the air and come down on the place where I lay with his knife out and a closed fist hits me in the head just before I black out.

They were called hunters. In his dying prayer, with the token of his faltering breath, the first Chavére Alpha provoked the ancient truce and etched it into his bloodline. In every decade, under the hunter’s moon, hunters with skills and strength comparable to the Lycans woke to protect wolves. And for a bleak moment, there was hope for the wolves.

[katalina] Night came. Hunter was on the bed already. While I chose not to go home. And spend the night with him. The TV was turned on. Hunter was watching a documentary film about the wilderness and the animals in it. I slowly climbed on the bed and lay next to him. He looked at me when I used his arm as my pillow. Hunter kissed my forehead. "How are you?" he asked out of the blue. I smiled. "Doing well. And you?"

Claire whispered, and as everyone watched with bated breaths, Hunter looked down at his chest right where his heart should be— at the bullet hole and blood gushing out like little overflowing rivers from it before he collapsed into an inviting and dreamless darkness. Tbc...

“Please, do tell me about how you escaped today.” “Killian and I were both chained to a chair till morning. The hunter came out of his room and decided it was time to die. As he lifted his pistol, he saw Rhett standing before him. He got frightened and started stuttering. Trust me, it was fun watching the hunter become afraid. Rhett stood tall and bold before him. The hunter pointed the gun to Rhett’s chest and pulled the trigger, but the gun was empty. He begged for mercy, but Rhett heeded no concern for he had waited for this moment for a long time. Pressing the gun hard against the side of his leg, Hunter made his way up her driveway. He took the three steps that lead to her porch. He looked back to see if no one was watching him. No one. He looked up at the sky, there were no stars visible just a huge round moon. The whitish greyish of the moon lit up the night sky. It would have been a perfect evening for couples to have a picnic on a mountain somewhere or cuddle on a sofa and watch a romantic movie. But for Hunter, this was a perfect day to murder his childhood psychologist and kill the pain that had been living inside of him ever since his first meeting with her.

We crouch down looking beneath the thick brush, and I see three hunters standing in front of Felix. He is hanging off a plank of wood stuck into the earth. Blood streaks down his body, and his head lolls to the side as if it's too heavy for him to hold up. One of the hunter’s holds a re-stained knife in their hand. Rage makes my vision go black. I launched myself at the Hunter. I’m too fast, and before the other can figure out what's happening, the first is dead. I turn to the second male and wrench the rifle he was holding from his grip, and drive my elbow into his throat.

Hunter has seen what he had always wanted to see, a werewolf and now he is going to die. "Run". That was all Hunter could think of. He ran as never before with the mighty dog following behind him. Hunter kept running for his life as he was pursued relentlessly by a huge dog. Hunter came to a halt when an arrow was fired his way, he didn't see who fired the arrow but it gave him a note when he caught the arrow. An arrow was also fired at Damian's leg, he bellowed as he crunched his feet. He transformed back into a human and jabbed the arrow out of his leg. To the arrow was a note just like the hunter's own. They both stopped to open the letter, Damian for a second forgot he was chasing Hunter
