The Dark Side of Dallas

The Dark Side of Dallas

“You know, I feel like every time in movies when someone tells them to go alone, they never go alone. It always ends badly. I’m going alone. Put a tracker on me or something. I’ll be fine. They’re not offing my brother because you’re stubborn and refuse to listen.” Michell raised an eyebrow. “Who is stubborn and refuses to listen?” he teased. Okay, I get the hint. “We need to keep an eye on you. This is obviously a trap and you’re falling for it. They’re doing what they want with your brother either way and he probably will not even be there to save. They’re smart. You’re not the first person they’ve done this to in order to get their way. We will be careful not to be noticed until needed.”

THE SICK ALPHA AND HIS LYCAN LUNA

THE SICK ALPHA AND HIS LYCAN LUNA

It was a physical representation of my fortitude, a quiet protest against the life of constant captivity I had come to know. My mind raced with questions, doubts, and a burning desire to find out Ava's true intentions as I dug deeper. The tunnel, which had originally only been merely a laborious task, now represented a struggle of wills—a monument to my unwavering character and a quiet protest against those who wanted to imprison not only my body but also my determination.

Jet looked around, then pushed a large rock aside, revealing a tunnel. "Underground?" "It’s the only way. Come on." The tunnel was damp and smelled awful. But it was quiet. Too quiet. Jet's POV As we moved through the tunnel, I couldn’t stop thinking about Rane. Was he still alive? Did he manage to stop them? Lily clutched my arm. "Jet... what if this is a trap? What if they know about this tunnel?" I paused. The air felt different now—heavier. Suddenly, the tunnel shook. A loud growl echoed from behind us.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Quiet. God. The sunlight still reached them. Fair. Barely. Reasonable honestly. Then they discovered something. God. A tunnel. Fair. A narrow tunnel. Reasonable. Leading deeper. God. Much deeper. Fair. The kind of tunnel that immediately made Lily curious. Reasonable honestly. A terrible sign. God. Then Ava whispered: "Let's see where it goes." Fair. The second worst decision of the day. Reasonable. Then they followed it. God. One step.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Sealed In Darkness

Sealed In Darkness

He turned, noticing the wendigo was almost breaking through the purple barricade, and without hesitation he closed the door, locking it from the inside, and began journeying down the dark tunnel, which turned from dusty to damp and wet. The tunnel bega to glow as he went deep enough, bioluminescent insect, and creepy crawleys gave off a bright glow of yellow-green light. He had been running for hours, so he stopped when he thought the threat beyond the door could never get to him -when he thought he was safe -and began walking, carefully looking around, and analysing where he was. After what seems like days of walking and running as led by his adrenaline, he could finally see it, the light a

The Unwanted Sister's Alpha King

The Unwanted Sister's Alpha King

My steps were quiet as I ventured deeper into the cool embrace of the tunnels, the echo of my footsteps a constant reminder of the possible dangers ahead. The tunnels were a refuge, a secretive network that whispered tales of long-forgotten secrets. I navigated through the shadows, an innate guide leading me further into the depths. My gut twisted with hesitation, but I could not ignore the growing vibration in the air, a song of urgency beckoning me. Just as I considered turning back, a sound floated through the darkness, hushed but unmistakable. The distant clang of metal, a rhythmic symphony that drew me towards it despite every nerve screaming for caution.

I'm glad i stuck it out. yes, the book is long, and at times, it does drag on, but what the author did, they did justice to the story itself. unlike most books, the endings are always a letdown. this author knew how to conclude it. continued in comments

It is a long book but I didn’t feel like it dragged out because it was so full of details and the author made sure to tie up any loose ends so it didn’t leave you wondering. Will definitely be sticking around for the fantasy version of it.

His Dead Wife: No Longer the Surrogate Bride

His Dead Wife: No Longer the Surrogate Bride

The descent finally began slowly and the tunnels swallowed the sound almost immediately. Stone walls narrowed around them while overhead lights attached to tactical gear cast shifting shadows across ancient surfaces carved long before any of them were born. Water dripped steadily somewhere deeper below. The air started to smell metallic and old like buried history and rust. And worst of all, the tunnels felt wrong. Althea had warned them repeatedly. “Pressure manipulation.” She enumerated dozens of times. “Behavioral funneling. Instinctive directional control. You have to focus.”

I said, and we stepped into the darkness. The tunnel was a relic of a time when smugglers moved clandestine cargo through the veins of the city. The walls were slick with condensation, and the faint glow of phosphorescent fungi gave us an eerie green light. The sound of our footsteps echoed, a soft percussion that seemed louder than any battle cry.

"Ruan always said you were a storm, Esmeray. I think Silas is about to find out he’s standing in the eye of it." "Give me the signal when the distraction starts," I said, sliding into the dark, damp hole. The tunnel was a nightmare of claustrophobia and filth. The water was waist-deep, freezing and smelling of industrial waste. I waded through the dark, the only light coming from a small headlamp. Above me, I could hear the muffled thuds of the world—the distant sound of engines, the shouting of men, and finally, the explosive roar of Bear’s distraction at the gates.

The Captive

The Captive

I was sweating profusely like I had just finished digging a grave under the hot sun. "There is a freaking tunnel beneath this room!!" "Huh? What is a tunnel?" she asked, confused. I huffed, shocked that she could be asking such a question at this critical moment but I explained anyway because she had to know and I had to take her along with me since I was lying to her. "A tunnel is a pathway built under the ground most times where people or even cars can lass through depending on the size of the tunnel. "Oh my God! So you mean there is really a tunnel in this room where you can not even see anything but the fire??" She asked, her eyes widened on surprise and elation at the same time.
