As Carlos were about to mount on his horse, an arrow was hurled in his direction and he was swift to duck. We looked in the direction at which it was thrown and we were shocked to see three huge men with a cross mark on their forehead. We knew they were hybrids because that mark was an identification for them. They were hefty, muscular and as tall as giants. Their faces were scary and they looked aggressive as their teeth jolted out in their mouth. We knew these hybrids were part werewolves, part vampires. They are known for their strength and desire for power. They never had businesses with werewolves and Lycans but I wondered why these ones in particular were trying to attack us.

I blinked my eyes and looked away from his face, finally finding someone who understands my pains. Because we were both broken. “We met in the past, I was five. I came to your pack with my mother. If you think the current Luna is my mother, Vivian isn’t and Blair is my stepsister. She’s my stepmother. My mother was Maya, she was a witch...” I wrapped my hands over my body, I have never told anyone about this. “I’m a hybrid Jamal.”

' my inner thought reminded me, "Fuck!" He growled, and my eyes widened, he was getting weak and it seemed that he was outnumbered, a sudden surge of power coursed through his veins. With a roar, he unleashed the full extent of his hybrid abilities, his eyes blazing with light as he unleashed a devastating wave of energy that sent the remaining hybrid flying backward in a tangled heap.

"It doesn't matter if she is different from us. She's still a girl and she needs protection just like any other female." Nikko was dizzy as he sat down on his stump; the pack had been surprisingly understanding, catching him off guard. Would they truly accept Sage, a hybrid, as one of them? Could this future he have envisioned for him and Sage be a possible reality? "I think it's a good idea," Nikko said. "We need to protect our females no matter what species they are."

Emptying my wine flute, I wiggled it before him and asked for a refill. “I'm going to have to be hammered if I do this,” I muttered, causing him to pause mid-pour.

Elias had only glared; the cold stare he gave was more of an answer than any words could ever be. “What is it you want from me? If I remember correctly, I did not want the inclusion of the hybrid law in The Council’s creation; that was you.” “You cannot let them take her away from me,” Elias replied plainly. He skipped over Ife’s jeer. It was true that all those centuries ago, he had proposed the hybrid law. It was after the devastation of the wars, when witches and wolves had joined together to eradicate the vampires. When Elias had looked onto the battlefield and saw the combination of powers, he knew that such a creature should not exist again. At least, until he began collecting.

He shook his head; regret was written all over his face. “I thought it was you,” he looked at Lex. “trying to find her.” “I ignored the email; I wasn’t going to make it easier for you to find her.” Slight attitude in his tone. “A few hundred years ago, there was a power-hungry pack. They were told of the prophecy by a witch that one day there would be a change in power. A hybrid wolf, both witch and werewolf shifter, would become Alpha. It is said that this Alpha would pass on it’s abilities to its pack and alliances.”

I tried to hide my hurt at her reaction. "What are they masters of?" She asked in aggitation. "We are vampire-hybrids, they are the original hybrids that we have evolved from." She stared at me wide eyed. "Okay, so what are vampire-hybrids?" "Vampire-hybrids are part human, vampire, wolf and any other animal that you can imagine. I myself am vampire, lycan (wolf), chameleon and human. The reason you have passed for human all these years is because you don't have that many dominating genes. So far I only know of the vampire and wolf, which both thave human forms. I don't really know what else you are at this point, no one does." I was actually intrigued that the Tribe knows really noth

Originals—the first vampires, the ones who can walk in sunlight without consequence. Lycans—werewolves so powerful they're practically
