Hannah looks up at me, confused. Damon stares, waiting.
“And if that’s what you want,” I add, “then that’s who you should be with.”
“What?” He frowns as if he didn’t hear me right.
“I said,” I say slowly then, hoping to leave no room for any miscommunication, “you two are perfect for each other. Maybe you should reconsider that divorce we talked about.”
For some reason, the mention of the divorce makes Hannah jump. “It’s okay, Damon. I’m not upset anymore. Let Elara have the win this time. It doesn’t really matter.”
