*Poppy* As we ventured onto the familiar road, the first mile leading to my hometown, my heart raced with anticipation. “Alright. Where?” I looked ahead. Through the windshield. Into the darkness. “Straight.” Cesare’s voice came low. “You’re sure?” No hesitation. “Yes.” The Movement The engine roared back to life. The car rolled forward again. And just like that— Rest was over. The New Path The road stretched endlessly ahead. Empty. Silent. But not for long. Because I could feel it now. Others. Not close. The road was open. The story continued not toward an ending, but toward everything that comes next.

His knees buckle, but he doesn’t let them. He stumbles out of the treeline, thorns ripping his skin, branches tearing at his clothes. The dirt gives way to asphalt, cold in the dewy night.

What do I do? Which way do I go? Here I stand on the edge of two roads, I don't have a clue in hell about which way to go, and I know me and Rome’s whole entire future rests on this decision. I look down the road that I just followed that goes to the house of trauma and then down the road to the left. I’m going this way because that car came from somewhere. I continue to keep walking but I keep falling down as shurbs tear through my palms as sunlight turns to darkness and I can’t see where I’m going.
