The Rules Of Mistletoe Novels & Stories

I told her, feeling a bit panicky suddenly. “You’d have to find a witch who specializes in this kind of thing. I have never heard of one before, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. It’s a large world and one might stumble into your lap at the right moment. In the meantime, it’s best you protect yourself. Oh, and stay away from Mistletoe.” I raised my brows. “Mistletoe?” I asked, confused. “It’s used as a sweetener in a lot of drinks. It’ll have the same effect on your body as the full moon does. You’ll transform in front of everybody and it won’t be pretty. It’s better if nobody knew about what you are.”

Ava’s POV There were only a few rules I lived by in college. Rule number one? Never fall for a jock. It wasn’t just a personal preference. It was survival; I had to avoid them in order to do well. I had seen too many smart girls throw away their GPA for a 6'0 something guy with biceps, a quarterback playboy and a bad attendance record. Not me, no way, I'll never do that, that's how I survived my first year in Westbridge University, and I'm not going to break that rule in my second year.

Jordan said with a smile on his face. “I will do something about it, something you will not believe” Damian said and Jordan laughed. “I’ll be waiting” Jordan said still laughing and William was uncontrollable. “Alright boys, the fun time is over” Wendy said as she brought the mistletoes she ground to the table and a smaller bowl for Jordan’s blood. “The reverse brewing system, how does it work?” Damian said. “The normal brewing system is brewing the mistletoe alone and later mix it with the blood which is the poison, while the reverse boiling system is using magic to boil the both together and the form one substance which is the elixir” Wendy said and William looked surprised.

Zoe shook her head. “Well, they said it was because of the mistletoe they were standing under. That it was an ‘innocent’ holiday kiss.” I sighed. “See. It was just mistletoe. Kissing under it is what you’re supposed to do.” Zoe laughed softly. “Still not funny,” I grumbled. “It isn’t something to get all bent out of shape. Kissing under the mistletoe is a holiday tradition. Unless the kiss is unwanted, it’s always innocent. Or it’s innocent till someone makes it not.” Zoe shrugged.

The only difference is its color. Instead of yellow flowers, this mistletoe has a reddish one, which is strongly related to the place where it grows. Since these mistletoes germinate within the Rhapsody Swamp where the blood of countless warlocks and sorceresses were spilled during the war, its petals were dyed red. Despite the war happening for a long time now, the mistletoe that grows in that place still had that same reddish color. As if it was dyed red by fresh blood.

I mumble, pulling myself from Virginia's arms and run from the room. I run. I don't stop; I just run. RULES LEFT UNBROKEN; 1) no sex 4) one on one; no introducing friends 5) 1 year max 6) one date per week each 9) the unsuccessful mate loses bond but no falling out between family members 10) no boasting, bribing or blackmailing.

I was nervous. It was a first for me. I knew how to do my job, and this one I could do in my sleep, but the thought of Adelie’s presence was making me sweat. I went over the list of rules in my head. No eye contact. No training. No meetings in my office. Don’t be in her proximity.

He said. I blinked. “What? But….” I tried to protest. "If the person gets you off, you lose. If the person doesn't, you win. Is that clear?" He asked. I hesitated for a moment, and then I nodded. "Good." He said. "Next rule. No penetration of any kind.” He said and moved closer to me. “No matter how badly, the being seduced begs for it. The seducer can only use his mouth and tongue. Nothing else. No penetration is allowed." He whispered into my ears. His hot breath tickled me and I could feel myself getting aroused.

“You’re smiling.” “Oh nothing,” I waved off, smiling even more now. “I just…realized something. Something that was so obvious before now and I’m just seeing it.” His eyebrows furrowed, not getting it. But good thing, John cut in then. “The rules are simple. No running, jumping, fighting, turning back around, letting go of your partners or dropping your item! Each team must cross the muddy stretch together. Together or it doesn’t count.”
