When the light catches his face, I notice he has short dark hair, neatly trimmed with a fade on the sides, with a well-grown beard that frames his jawline. “You will have your money soon.” The shadow man growls. Moving back into the shadows like that’s where he belongs. “Wait. That wasn’t the deal. I appreciate the money, but I was hoping that maybe we could discuss business with you…” “No,” the shadow man says. His voice is low and dangerous. “Please. Tell—” A growl rumbles through the cabin. “I said no, pup!” The word echoes off the rotting walls with a force that chills me to the bone.

Chandler's legs gave way, and he sank to the floor. He stared blankly at the blood-covered flesh on his hand, murmuring, “It’s really her, it’s really her… “How could this happen?” He asked as he gazed at Ben, his eyes bloodshot, panic and anger surging within him. With a wave of his arm, he sent everything nearby crashing to the ground. Then, he seized Ben’s collar. “Bring me all the data on A167!” His voice trembled as he sank into despair. “Wasn’t it said that the special drug was supposed to be effective?”

Men. They always assume the most dangerous person capable of outrunning them, outthinking them, cutting through their operations like a knife through water — they always assume it is another man. That you’ll be nothing more than a coward.” Jamie’s bravado faltered, his grip on the skateboard tightening. “Shut up,” he said, his voice low. “You don’t know me.” The shadow stepped closer, its presence suffocating. “I am you. There's an awkward silence in the room, and I'm starting to feel very uneasy.

Shadowthorn sends its regards. The Alpha requires your presence. War is coming with Crimsonfang. He knows about the twins.” Aria laughed coldly. “Tell Kael he can choke on his own knot. “I will be” I hung up the phone feeling a bit better. The man in the shadows from my delusion still haunted my mind. I took some deep breaths, and I did my best to shove the thoughts away. "You don't have to be all protective and guarded with me, I'm not among the bad guys. Actually, I'm a friend and you can also see me as your savior too." He said, Jacklyn just frowned. Is this man going to tell her who he really is or he's just going to continue beating around the bush.

I demanded " And, don't you dare take my shape or you will pay for that." "Like I said you can't do anything to me or my kind. We are shadows. We are like air. Anyone or any power can pass through us and the only person who can hurt us is our mistress or the person who belongs from our shadow family." the shadow informs. "And, who is your mistress?"I asked. "Her," the shadow pointed at Minerva and got down down on his knee in front of her " She is our Queen. The Mistress to the Shadows."
