I had to struggle to suppress a laugh. The Silver Myst was an urban legend, a pure silver wolf who showed up when things looked at their worst. He first appeared near four years ago, shortly after the war began, and has, supposedly, been seen numerous times since. It was always out of the corner of someone’s eye, or seen by a friend of a friend. Chris and the others were too old to believe in fairy tales.

His golden irises flickered with something unreadable as he leaned in closer, his gaze dark and searching. My stomach twisted. "What?" I croaked, my voice hoarse. Tristan didn’t respond. Slowly, deliberately, he reached up, his fingers brushing against my face, then trailing to my temple before stopping just beneath my eye. His thumb pressed there, gentle yet firm. And then, barely above a whisper, he spoke. "Your eyes." I stiffened. "What about them?" His throat bobbed as he swallowed. "They’re silver." A chill swept through me, cold and suffocating.

That was definitely the reason. I saw 2 silver eyes belonging to a pale face, staring at me. The face didn’t have any features other than the eyes, that’s what made it worse. The silver eyes, it had no pupil. It was just.. completely silver, there wasn’t even any whitish sclera. And yet, there were eyelashes. No lips or nose either. I was totally losing it. Yelling here, however, was not an option. As a man, I would not let myself behave in that way.

Everything kept getting worse and the healer suddenly pushed through the crowd, his face looked pale, very pale. He stopped directly in front of Nyra. “Your eyes.” Nyra swallowed. “What about them?” The healer looked shaken. “I’ve never seen anything like them.” Cassian frowned. “What do you mean?” The healer hesitated and then answered carefully. “The silver.” Silence returned and the healer pointed at Nyra. “No known wolf bloodline possesses silver eyes.” A murmur spread through the court, fear returned immediately and Nyra wanted to disappear, wanted to run away, wanted everybody to stop looking at her.

Her small hands gripped her mother’s arms tightly, her gaze fixed on the fight. And then, it happened. The little girl’s eyes began to glow. Not gold like Damien’s. Not blue like Lyra’s. But silver—bright, shining silver, like liquid moonlight. Lyra gasped. “No… not now…” The wolves froze mid-attack, their snarls dying in their throats. The glow in Isla’s eyes spread into the air, a soft silver light that seemed to pulse like a heartbeat. The snow glittered under it, the trees shivering as if touched by the moon itself.

The familiar pull between us igniting like fire. "Your eyes changed color for a moment," he said softly. "Just a flash. Did you know that?" Ice flooded my veins. "No." "They turned silver. Pure silver. No alpha has silver eyes. Only…" He stopped with his jaw clenched. I could almost see the spinning gears. "Only omega eyes turn silver when their wolf is close to the surface." The word hung between us like a knife ready to strike.

At the same moment, his blue eyes bled into silver. “Good.”

GLASSES? "Oh no, OB why do you have a smile on your face?", he asked and I grinned. "you need glasses? Like me", I said and he groaned falling into the chair. "anyway I think they are cute on you but I just wanted to ask who the hell Ajani is". He shot up and looked at me biting the side of his lower lip. "Where did you meet Blade?", he said in a harsh whisper. I nearly dropped my can in fear, I had to hold it tight so I won't slip out of my fingers, he removed his glasses as he waited for me to reply to his question.
