The Spark In Your Eyes Chapter 1 Novels & Stories

*VANCE'S POV* Comforted by the sparks and tingles that were filling my body, I jolted awake. My nostrils unbarred as they sniffed the air for the familiarity of roses and strawberries that I was most accustomed to, but could not locate the scent. Despite this, I thought I had to be at home with Sianna and welcomed the sparks. It must have been a nightmare that I had of Chloe. Then it happened rather quickly. As I shot my eyes open, my vision moderately becomes clearer, and saw her staring smugly at me. "Hi, Baby."

Memories that weren’t mine flashed in rapid bursts: Terrain cities in the sky. A sea of golden energy. A colossal Gate carved into an asteroid. A thousand voices chanting the sigil. Then A jolt. A breath. A shattering sensation inside my chest. I let out a strangled gasp and fell to my knees. The energy faded instantly. The chamber went silent. Only the lingering echo of the voice remained. “Do not fear the spark. You will need it sooner than you think.” My vision steadied enough to see the floor again the countdown had ended.

She groped for the bed as if she had gone blind and fell on it, her face facing up. I lowered my hands to her thigh, my fingers running up and down her thighs. She shivered, then parted her legs so that her cunt was exposed. I slid a finger in, and caressed her clit with my thumb. And that was when Spark snapped. A deep, violent growl ripped through me so hard my chest jerked forward like something inside wanted to break out. Of course, Spark was trying to take control. “NO,” Spark snarled. “Not her.”

The Eye of the Viewer, belonging to people who watched the story just to see it break. “The story is too slow!” a voice boomed from the lens, sounding like millions of people typing at once. “Delete the characters! Start a new plot!” The text threads under Maya’s feet started to melt. “Go! Move!” Julian called. Maya climbed faster. Pain stabbed her muscles. Her fingers bled from the sharp edges of the glowing words. She hauled herself onto Chapter 75. Suddenly, a giant shadow-spider leaped from Chapter 76, landing on Maya’s back.

I whispered. I closed my eyes. I tried to find that blue heat Heda talked about. I didn't think about magic. I just thought about how much I hated the floor I had scrubbed for years. I thought about Sarah pushing me. I thought about Rowan’s hand on my jaw. Suddenly, my palm felt hot. I opened my eyes. A tiny, silver spark danced in the middle of my hand. It was small, like a grain of sand, but it was bright. It didn't burn me, it felt like it belonged there.

For a moment, Seraphine felt it. A flicker, like a candle flame sparking in the dark. But before she could reach for it, it sputtered out, leaving only emptiness. “The First Spark,” the professor intoned, “is the breath before the flame. Today, you will call it. Do not expect control. Do not expect mastery. Expect only a response.” He raised his hand, and a line of glowing runes shimmered across the board. “Close your eyes. Listen inward. Breathe until you hear what is already waiting.”

"You smell like him." My heart stopped. The hounds are coming. I looked past Kael, past Ronan's brooding glare, past Zephyr's calculating silence—and I saw the shattered mirror. In the reflection, just for a split second, a pair of molten gold eyes blinked back at me from the darkness. I wasn't crazy. And my life was about to change forever. END OF CHAPTER 2

He seemed innocent with the constant worry flashing in his eyes and also maybe the eye coloring flickering to his wolf. I sighed, "Fine." I slowly stretched out my hand and put it in his, slowly lacing them together. He didn't show any expression except for when his eyes softened. I was kind of lost in his eyes but his hand only felt warm and sweaty. I snapped, pulling my hand back. "Okay. So I did that and now I will be going to the laundry house." Alpha gray stopped me, "Wait. Didn't you feel anything?" "Feel exactly what?" "The sparks."
