I pressed my palm flat against the cold glass. "That's the thing," I said quietly. "I don't want to walk out. That's what scares me. I don't want to leave and I haven't wanted to leave since some weeks after knowing you. Heck, I don't know what to do with something I don't want to leave because the last time I felt that way, I couldn't leave even when I needed to." He was quiet for a moment. "This is different," he said. "How do you know?"

Something I couldn’t have, but something I couldn’t seem to stop wanting, either. One other thing that struck a new within me was how she said, "I’m just glad I can be there for him, help him take back control over his life and when he finally doesn't need me anymore I will leave." The word Leave echoed in my mind long after she’d spoken it. Leave? Leave this house? Leave Seb? Leave... me? No. The thought of her walking away...just like that was unbearable. And yet, in a way, I knew I had no right to feel that way. She wasn’t mine. Not now.
