Audrey’s POV We were driving through swirl groove, this time, in total silence. Not even a chit-chat or a tube from the radio. She had one arm on the steering wheel and the other by her side. Whatever was the reason for that… I understood not wanting the past to repeat itself and paying attention to the details around us which could help us know beforehand that we would be getting ambushed again. Or maybe this vow of silence I was on was more of my entire brain being so fried from the experience that I had decided to keep my mouth shut and say nothing.

Emotional, a little awkward at times (Adrian stumbles over his words at one point and Christine laughs mid vow, which honestly makes it better), but real. And somewhere in the middle of it, I realize something. Again. That has been at the back of my mind but it’s more clearer. I’m not scared like I used to be. Or maybe I am but it doesn’t control me anymore. The reception is louder.
