“So, what is your wish, Eli?”
The question stilled her.
I saw it—the subtle shift. Her gaze moved from one face to another, as if searching, as if weighing something within herself. And then, inevitably, her eyes settled on me.
For a brief moment, the world seemed to narrow into that single exchange.
“I do not have any wish anymore,” she said, her voice steady, though softened by something deeply personal. “Because my wish is already beside me.”
The reaction was immediate, cheers, teasing laughter, playful outrage from our friends—but I barely heard any of it.
