The World Played Chess Novels & Stories

“Now, now, now, this play is surely getting into the hype, do you not think of it, Chie?” “I surely am.” To the façade of the child image they both wears, they currently are the strategist and the game layer of the grand chess game they are playing where the seven worlds they are watching and manipulating are the puns of the game, where destruction is the only happy ending. He cleared out the room and she took the farther, exchanging the channel. Even if life was one huge chess coordinate, the world was brief on sparkling knights. Everybody needed to be a imbecilic, childish ruler.

“No, I used to, “ I say, staring up at the clouds. It seems that we’ve stayed out here longer than I thought. “Well, you must be really smart and talented to be good at a game as complex as chess.” “Thank you, sir.” “You and William have so much in person. He is also very good at this game and he has never allowed his old man to see victory. Have you beaten him at a game of chess before?”

"Don’t worry, Aliyah. It’s just a game. No one really masters chess in their first game." My wolf seemed to be dancing in glee deep within me while Reid and I stared at each other, and I only looked away when Klaus cleared his throat loudly. "How about Checker? Have you ever played that game before?" he asked. "That! I played that before!" I exclaimed. After a second, I suddenly felt ashamed of my unexpected reaction. Reid chuckled. "Get the checkerboard, Klaus. Aliyah and I will play." "What about me?" "You can watch us," Reid stated without breaking our eye contact.

"Well, then, will you play with me?" Adi could see that she wanted to say no. But this time he was not going to let her get out of it. "Come on! I have never played Chess with a human. It's always the computer. And after the first few ones, I have always won! I want to see if you are smarter than a computer when playing chess." As expected, the challenge brought a fighting light to her eyes. Adi covered his mouth with a fist when she accepted the challenge. "So easy to manipulate."

She politely refused. "Oh wait, look what I also bring." Her grandmother pulls out the chessboard that she brought. "A board that father and grandfather used to play? But I do not know how to play that, grandmother. In fact, I don't even know what that game is called." Luna replied. "You know what, this board game is called chess. Also, did you know who taught your grandfather and your father how to play chess?" Luna's grandmother asks her. "I actually do not know, grandmother. Was that great grandfather?" Luna had no idea who taught her father how to play chess.

I knew he was fibbing. The jackass was a sore loser. We had played three games of chess and he had lost every single one. We were in the fourth round and Luciano was trying to come up with ridiculous and very untrue rules concerning the game. "Seriously," he defended. "The pawn can become the queen as long as it's in the last three rows." I leaned forward to flick his forehead and shook mine in disapproval. "Liar. That's not how it works." "That's how it does!" He yelled. "And if that's not how it works, then I don't want to play any longer."

He too out his phone and I wouldn’t play crossword with him, I knew I was dumb and right now wasn’t the time to prove how dumb I was, by failing to create or find any word in puzzle. We settled for chess, but it was an online game. ‘‘I have a real chess board at home, ‘’ he bragged as he moved a checkmate on the board. ‘‘Don’t hold back because I am a girl, if we are playing, its fair, you make legit moves,’’ I cried as I noticed he was letting me win on purpose. This wasn’t a game if he was doing that. I won the first game and literally cried, before going on to do a small dance.

Tatiana glanced at the chessboard and chuckled, "Are you just letting Grandpa win? I thought you really didn't know how to play." "My grandpa taught me a bit when I was younger, so I know a little. But I haven'tplayed much since I grew up," he said, looking at Tatiana with a smile. "I heard Grandpa mention that you played chess with him last time. Why don’t you join me for a game?" "No thanks." Setting her teacup down, Tatiana shook her head. "I don't know how to play chess, so it's better if I sit this one out. You can play with Grandpa tomorrow."

"Congrats, do send my greetings to your father." "Will do," I promised with a smile. I walked away saying under my breath, "Will do when I see that man in hell." The game of chess is not just any old board game but it is also the game of life. You can be represented as the king, all the others are the people around you. Check mate means game over in the game but check mate in real life means your life has come to an end... Those were my father's words, the greatest chess player of all time. Too many victories to count, only 3 draws and no losses.
