The Year You Were Born Book Novels & Stories

Stacey’s POV: If someone had told me a year ago that I would be sitting at my own kitchen table, going over preparations for a global book signing tour and balancing it with my wedding preparations, I would have laughed. Or maybe cried. Back then, I was drowning in confusion, heartbreak, and half-finished thoughts. Now, the world called me a success.

Christmas was the reading of the book. This Christmas, Don's book was a novel—Norwegian, which was not a coincidence, a novel by the same writer whose essays were in the Norway reading programme. The novel was called The Dark Year, and it was about a man who spent a winter alone in a cabin in the far north of Norway, experiencing the full darkness for the first time. Don had been saving it since September, when he had finished the essays. He had placed it on the shelf above his desk, the designated holding place for the Christmas book, and had not opened it once.

I answered politely. "Okay, that is good. What year were you born?" "I was born in the year 1968" I said, almost muttering. I had a small stature that was a shameful stature to me, because I barely age and looked like I was twelve. "Okay, that's good. Have you been to school before? Or learn a trade?" She asked.

For now, I tacked the calendar to the bare wall and stuck the books in the corner, one atop the other. By the time I finished, the light had leaked out of the sky. On the desk, the phone Vincent bought me lit up. Midnight. A birthday message illuminated the screen, saying a gift would arrive soon. Eighteen. All at once, I felt the age in my bones. I’d never celebrated my birthday growing up. I hadn’t known when I was born. Or where. But eighteen years ago, on this day, I’d been left on the orphanage steps. So, as it turns out, I’d been abandoned the moment I’d entered this world.

After reading much inside the book , it seemed very basic to me , pretty normal introduction, many not important, ancestors and I am pretty sure I am wasting my time , my strength and my senses here. I can smell now nothing at all other than dust , and the book ,it is so heavy. My arms are going numb soon , I flipped so many big pages like a wall after a wall , it is all a dead end to me. He is nowhere to be found. Suddenly , What I Wanted came in front of me when I had just decided to close the book... "KALIM CONAL KWEINT " It's him , it tells the story of him even before birth. weird it never happened.

I murmured. “Old,” he said, the word curving around a huffed laugh. “I suppose the beginning is my beginning. That’s where this all starts.” He paused, as if mustering his courage. “I was born in eighteen fifty-two,” he said quietly, before loosing a long breath. The world tilted on its axis, and, like the uprooted grass, I tumbled over the edge of the cliff. “Eighteen fifty-two?” I repeated numbly. He nodded. “Then I died, in eighteen seventy-six. I guess that’s where the story starts, actually. Not at my birth, but at my death.”

I can't believe he's only five! "Only five?" Lizzie remarked from the other side of the living room, looking up from her phone. "He's been five forever!" "That's because he was born in December," Francesca laughed. "My mother always used to say that those born in December never age." Oliver remarked, "They're the last ones to, anyway." Theo threw an arm around me and kissed my cheek while Oliver recounted Theo's tale. We made eye contact and he told me in a low voice, "Another year."

I glance over to him quickly and he just nods telling me, "You can check anything out that you like. I'm going to make us something to eat. Enjoy yourself." I don't waste any time. I need answers. What better place to find them, than in a library? I wasn't sure where to begin, so I just grab the first book that I see. It's a yearbook for the year 2035. I nearly stumble. Huh? That doesn't seem right. It seems impossible. Like somehow I just jumped into the future.

"According to our forefathers she will be born in the year of Dragon and her birth will be after 1500 years from the year of avulsion." "so.." He took that book and gave it to Jatin and Dhruva and gestured to read. As they went through the book their face cuddled up. They looked at him in disbelief "Yes.. It's her, my sister; your commander... Our guardian.."
