A little longer and the door would surely be destroyed. "Get back," Gloria whispered. Samantha shielded Nova as she retreated. The door shook and shook until it collapsed with a resounding crash, and the massive creature burst in. Rat-ta-ta-ta! Gloria fired several shots in succession the moment the monster rushed in, and it fell to the ground after having its body riddled with holes. However, the sound of gunfire attracted the monsters that were lurking nearby. They started appearing outside the door. "More of them are coming!" Samantha exclaimed.

I thought with a smile. Nothing did. I waited for some more minutes, but still nothing happened. I let out a gust of air from my mouth, deciding to try the knob for just one more time, having made up my mind to walk away from here if it didn't budge again. Fortunately or unfortunately for me; I'm not sure again since I don't know what could be waiting behind the door. For all I know there could be a monster in chains behind this door, or worse, a roaming one. All the same, the knob was loosened now, and it turned freely to the left, and the door jerked open a little.
