Raven’s Hold was the forge. I looked at my hunters, my scouts, my pack. They were tired but unbroken. I thought of my father and the way he had trained me in poison and endurance. I thought of my mother and the memorial stones. I thought of Lily Nelson and the woman whose sacrifice had shadowed my life. The pack’s next breath would belong to me. I did not step away. I stepped forward. I put my palm flat on the table and said, “If Raven’s Hold wakes, we will not be the ones who burn.”

For a moment, nothing happened. But then, like the splitting of atoms, the intense energy held within released its horrifying destruction. Not even Oliver could have imagined the power which had just been allowed to run free. It was like a miniature nuclear explosion, the way wave after wave of pressure and fire swept through the buildings. At each contact, paper and wood were shredded to the point of atoms and the granite which had stood for centuries, shattered into insignificant shards, and swept up into the growing tide. Nora asked. "Yeah, what about it?" Alice asked. "When my dad got to the scene, he found the car in flames and few officers were hurt," she said. Alice was shocked. "Jesus!" She screamed. "It's terrifying," Nora sighed. She decided to change the subject. "How are the boys? Are they awake?" She asked. Alice nodded, still trying to recover from her shock. "Let's go in then," Nora said and walked into the hospital. Alice dragged her feet lazily behind her. She was still immersed in her thoughts that she wasn't focused on her surroundings. She accidentally bumped into a man.

Before my eyes, my memories—moments with Lucas, our seaside home, our love—were being gathered in his palm like burning spheres of fire. As a final attempt, I detonated the “super-simulation” code within me. Flames burst through the gaps between the Original Father’s fingers. The entire lab shook violently. In that blinding white explosion, when I opened my eyes again, I was no longer in the metallic city. I stood in an endless library—filled with billions of bookshelves. Every book was titled “Sophia.” I opened one book—it was the story of my life. I opened another—it described my death.

It didn't need to be, but I craved this pain, relished it. The town slept, the lights off. I swooped in low, my wings grazing the tops of their houses, and I roared. She made me crazy. I wanted death, blood, a fight. Killing these humans would give me two of the three. With a burst of flame to their public building, it exploded. Humans poured from their homes, women screamed, children cried. I made one last pass before changing my course. Was anyone inside the burned building? A small part of me didn't want a human death on my hands. Acasia's words made it a smaller part than usual, so I refused to feel guilty.

i actually wonder if they tried sunscreen but thats a question for if i can get them to trust me. after hours of walking i get to the first town and stop at the gate i look up and see a guard i ask him for entry not having to yell because they do have heightened senses. He is in front of me in a flash and i can hear him sniff, despite him obviously trying to hide it. He looks me up and down, “what is a human doing in our realm?” i shrug, “Just passing through, trying to get through this town into the next to find home.” He looks at me for a few minutes before raising his hand and the gate opens to let me pass.

I spat out a mouthful of blood and winced as I turned my head toward the passenger seat. Upon seeing Keaton Rourke wedged between the airbag and the seat, I ground out, "You disabled the airbag, didn't you?" He looked at me like he wanted me dead. He ignored my question, raised an eyebrow, and smirked. "Hate to break it to you, but even with you bleeding out, Teresa will still come to me first." I hunched over in pain, clutching my stomach with both hands. My vision was blurring, and I could barely keep my eyes open, but I still had to defend Teresa Bellamy. "She is my wife. There is no way she would save you before me."

I was late morning when Tristan entered the room pulling my head of the book, I looked at him in slight amazement. “We have the conference call in twenty minutes.” He greeted stepping into the room as I looked up. “What?” He asked and I held up the book. “Tristan, this book.” I stated not really knowing how to explain it. “It’s a novel, just a story that I found in the library, but it’s based on a family of werewolves, the two daughters, twins, were born with a special gift, they could produce fire and ice.” I uttered and watched as his brows rose. “They later became joint alphas of the their pack. Do you think this could be the story of the alpha twins that we were looking for?”

Every morning I have woken up thinking it was all a dream. I don’t have to use spells or anything either thus far. I think of what I want to happen, and most of the times it does. I just have to think outside the box more. It might have went faster if Elijah had been able to free up some time though. I can master those nasty ass fireballs now, though!
