She narrowed her eyes at me for a minute and I was afraid that she was going to tell me off. Instead, she shrugged and said, "OK". I'm taken aback and not sure how to react. "OK?" I question "Yep. I replied as I turned to his side and began walking closer to him. "Don't come any closer," he said halting my movement. I paused for a moment but then defied his words and moved closer to him, "I am not a child," I repeated. "I am nineteen. You're probably twice my age or almost and that's fine. I mean, age is just a number." He shook his head and smiled, "you're sweet." "So is that a yes?" I asked excitedly

"I am not saying we should break off now or go for a divorce but a little break would do us good" "Okay let's take a little break"

Alex saw it immediately. “No,” he said. “Don’t let it feel easy.” Finn blinked slowly. “It’s not easy…” A pause. “…it’s quiet.” That’s the Danger Jake’s grip tightened slightly. “Quiet isn’t good,” he said. Liam nodded. “It means it’s almost done deciding.” Too Close, Again Alex turned to Jake. They were close. Closer than before. Not by accident. “You’re asking them to hold that?” Alex said quietly. I stared at my mobile screen for seconds before smiling to myself. The grin wasn’t out of mockery but of relief. Cass clung to the fantasy to keep up with appearance, much like how the rest of the family played the role of one big, happy family. I no longer saw the need to call them out on their lies. The next day, I went to check out a newly developed complex unit. The neighborhood was in a decent location, close to my workplace. While the unit didn’t feature a lot of space, the layout was perfect and bright for me.

“That doesn’t mean we’re close enough.” A brief silence stretched between us. Not tense. But not easy either. Then, quieter—“You’re impatient.” I let out a short breath, almost a laugh. “No. I just don’t like being this close and still not having a name.” “You will.” “When?” “When they make a mistake.” I shook my head slightly. “You’re waiting for them to slip.” “I’m letting them.” “That’s not the same thing.” His jaw shifted, like he was about to argue, then stopped.

Someone scoffs and I send him a stink eye. “Are you okay?” Someone else ask closing the distance between us and getting a little too close. “I’m fine” I state and walk out of there as fast as I can. I think I am losing my mind at this point.

“And the place I feel safest right now is when I’m close to you. If you want to make me feel safe, then don’t move away from me even one more inch, OK?” He froze. Oh, God. Is this really happening between us? “You really feel that way?” he said. “Yes.” Her dark eyes were warm and open, and he wanted to dive into them. “Me too.” The admission rushed out of him. “I want to be close to you. I like to be close to you.” She smiled. “But we take this slow, OK, baby?” He touched her now, his large hand running up and down her lower back. “I don’t want you to have to deal with any of this right now… you have enough for getting on with.”
