My blood turned cold as a dark shape began to materialize from the shadows. Kael’s hand dropped to his side. “This is a warning, we need to get to the throne room at once.” Whatever was coming, it wasn’t here to talk. Kael pushed his way through the doors and the hallway, leading and as he approached the throne room doors he threw them open. His eyes, if I could see them, were scanning the entire room.

The room itself was similar to Aurora's at home, only with far more banners and tapestries of various exploits. Some of cloth even depicted humans and elves side by side. 'These are very old indeed!' Aurora thought.

This room is the only route to the throne room” Mane told the others what he found out. “What a sneaky man” Mane thought. If someone tried to infiltrate the throne room they would be in for a big surprise. Unless they were scholars like Mane and able to tell that there were several other wielders in hiding, and that the three who were patrolling the room were just distractions, they would be in big trouble.

Dust rained from the ceiling as a distant explosion echoed through the tunnels behind us. “Hurry,” Seris said sharply. “The throne is becoming unstable.” We pushed forward. The final corridor opened into a chamber so vast it stole sound from the air itself. No one spoke immediately. Even Thomas fell silent. The throne chamber stretched beneath the mountain like the heart of another world. Massive stone pillars rose toward darkness far above us, carved with intertwined wolves and crowns worn smooth by time. Ancient braziers burned along the outer walls with silver fire instead of flame, casting pale light across the enormous circular hall.

The girl smiled at him. He flinched. She lifted her hand. The courtyard vanished. Cold rain struck my face. I stood inside an ancient throne room. White stone pillars rose around me, carved with wolves swimming through waves. Torches burned blue along the walls. Soldiers filled the hall, armour wet from battle. No one saw me. Raiken appeared at my side. His fingers found mine. The touch anchored me. At the far end of the room, Ayamira sat upon the Tide Throne. She looked like me, but harder.

“However much you took from Angelina and her mother, you’ll pay it back in blood.” As soon as he finished speaking, my underboss drew his gun and pressed it tightly against their temples. Lorenzo slumped into a corner, his face pale. He finally realized that the honey trap he had been so proud of this past year was nothing more than a tool for our father-daughter cleanup. He was nothing but a toy I had completely drained, used to draw fire. I walked up to him, crouched down, and patted his cheek. “Just a pretty face.”

The whole room was loosely decorated, the original decors were there probably from the previous owner, but Warlord bandit has also made some improvements, a sloppy one, with hanging torches, hanging skulls, messy floor with rubbish. “What..in the heck…”.
