𝘼𝘽𝘽𝙄𝙀 I stood beside my window, fingers pressed lightly against the cold glass, watching the world outside. The world that could never be mine… no matter how desperately I longed for it. My eyes were fixed on Lara Harvard. She lived next door, and from my window, I could see everything that happened in her vast compound, almost identical to ours, yet somehow so different. Hers felt alive. Mine felt like a cage.

After the boys had left my room, I went through my bag and pulled out my favorite book, Night Flame, by Catherine Hart. I sat back in my chair by the window, prepared to spend the rest of the afternoon reading when a shiver ran down my spine. I jumped out of my seat and spun around to see a pair of yellow eyes glowing in the corner of the room. As those eyes drew closer to me, I realized that it was Simon, the fae that came to warn me the other day.

Chapter 3- A Perfect Day Drrrrr! Crash! Bang! Melo was awoken by crashing and banging happening outside his room. What kind of ruckus is happening? He thought to himself. He slightly opened his eyes but all he saw were the lights peeking through his window blinds, beaming across the room. He scooted to the other side of the bed, facing his big glass window that is covered with white blinds. Then, he slipped two of his fingers in between the blinds and allowed just the right amount of light to pass through.

Adrian's POV The morning light streamed gently through our bedroom window, soft and golden, as if the world itself understood the significance of this day. I woke with a calm heaviness in my chest, the kind that comes when something monumental is about to happen. For years, I had poured myself into stories, filling pages with bits of my heart and fragments of my soul. Today marked the culmination of all of it, the moment when my words would be bound together into a single, final book, my life’s work, in every sense.

A firefighter shouts, pointing at a window barely visible through the smoke, and then I see Levi partially transformed. His body is matted in soot, cradling my daughter in his arms—our daughter. The firefighters set up a life safety net, and from the situation, Blue is the only one who can pass through because the window seems broken but jammed shut. He lets out a growl, rears back, and tosses her through the broken window. She flies through the air for half a second that feels like an eternity, and my heart lodges in my throat with tears crawling from my face.

The storm that had been threatening all day finally broke over Ravenwood by nightfall. Rain hammered the roof in wild, uneven bursts, as though the sky itself had lost patience. Evelynn sat by the window, knees drawn to her chest, watching the glass bead and blur. Every drop seemed to echo the pulse in her veins—too fast, too sharp, too alive.

They wanted to abduct me, as my captor kept moving back, towards the window in a calculated retreat. Suddenly, Rafe burst into the room, followed closely by Soren and Hunter. Without a word, they joined Malik's side, ready to battle the rogues. The clash of weapons filled the air, metal against metal, and death sliced through the air, leaving behind blood and vengeful wrath. Hunter's eyes darted towards the window as he noticed more rogues trying to enter through the window. With swift precision, he moved to the window and severed the rope they were using to climb into my room, effectively cutting off their entry.

Giving up, I picked up a Sydney Sheldon's novel by my bedside and began to read, wanting to take the mind off the fact that I was an orphan now. A sound at my window had me bringing the book down. I stared at the window, wondering what could be making the sound. Was someone out there? I thought, getting up from my bed, and walking toward the window. My mouth fell agape when I saw Kaden right outside my window, his handsome face shrouded in sadness. He must have heard of my father’s death already.
