I need to buy more locks. I slid down the walls and wrapped my arms around my knees and let the tears flow. Fabian is out. He's out. I don't know how long I cried but I slept off in that position. When I woke up the next morning, my head felt like it was splitting into two. My body was stiff from curling up for a long time. The room spinned as I stood. I entered the bathroom to prepare for school. When the water touched my hands, I winced, I had forgotten that I had cuts from picking up the broken glasses last night. The wound stung with every movement.

But not reading. The room smelled like torn paper and old wood. Dust hung in the air like smoke, swirling with every violent motion Dane made. He grabbed another book, one of the older ones, with a cracked leather spine, and without a second thought, he ripped the cover clean off and flung it across the room. It hit the wall with a dull thud before sliding to the floor in a pile of destroyed pages. “Dane, stop it!” I shouted again, louder this time, stepping fully into the wrecked library.

**15 Years Ago** His Pov: I flip through the crumpled, half-burned pages of the only thing I have left—the only thing she couldn’t destroy. My fingers trace the torn edges carefully, like they’re made of glass, like they’ll fall apart if I hold them too tight. The paper is stained, corners smudged, some pages singed at the ends. So, this book is about Alpha Devon's life before the arrival of his youngest brother. I was about to close the book when I saw something strange on the book’s last page. I frowned when I saw that there was a torn page there. I opened the book, but the torn page was not there. Why is this page torn? Also, is it possible to tear a page here? I doubt it!

Aside from that, there were no clues about the drugs. Not willing to give up, Maia kept flipping through the pages one after another. She went down on her bead, placed the book into the side table, and flipped it to the next page to continue reading. She creased her forehead when she noticed that the next page was torn out. “No. This can’t be happening,” she silently whispered while shaking her head, disapprovingly. The strong wind of night air passes through the glass window pane, causing the pages to flip in one second. Dawn made a frustrated groan when she could find the page where she read it. The knock from the door interrupts her from searching the page to look for the interesting one.

But now it’s lying in the center of my bed, open. I step towards it slowly, half-afraid it might suddenly flap its covers like wings and start flying around the room like an emerald green butterfly. With all the other madness going on around here, it would hardly be surprising. But the book lies still as a tombstone, the faded black ink staring up at me as I reach down to touch the thin paper. There’s a page missing. The jagged remnants of a torn page stick out from the spine, a clear sign that someone ripped a page out.

Reiya: Turn to the last few pages of that book and you will notice something. I opened the book and started surfing the last few pages of the book and to my surprise there really was something in the book. A page torn in half and in the half that was still attached to the book were three letters that ended at the torn part and seem to have no connection to everything that I have learned up to date. Those letters were ''NEA-''

Almost like there were two pages stuck together, I try to pull them apart with my fingers but I was worried about ripping the page and having to pay to replace the book in the library. Putting the book down I go to the kitchen to grab a sharp knife, wishing that I had one of those fancy letter openers that I have seen in old movies. Returning back to the desk I gently shimmy the tip of the blade between the pages, once the tip is in I slowly slide the rest of the blade in. I hear the pages begin to break apart, thankful that the actual pages didn’t rip, then I see more pages than expected between them. Smaller ones, thin like an old bible, yellowed with page break apart.
