"I'm sure I can guess the price, Frog. You've got a one-track mind." Frog was going to demand to know where his mortal was. This particular Fate had been chasing after his Innehavre for generations. And while it had been a dirty trick, Tricksy was the only one who knew where that soul was and where it kept ending up. As a Fate, Frog was not allowed to search for him. He was only allowed to come upon him by chance, just like that first meeting.

I shouted, my head whipping from side to side as I tried to locate where the sound came from. Another croak, this time from the chair to my left. I dragged myself out of the hearth and hurried towards. There, on the edge, was Celyn the frog, looking absolutely unbothered. But when I tried to pick her up, she jumped away. I cursed loudly, nearly falling on my face as that stupid frog evaded me time and again. Finally, I was able to corner her in the hearth. I threw her into my backpack, retrieved my phone from where it fell.
