He paused and continued driving. "And then what?" I asked as the curiosity fuelled inside of me. "That's a surprise." He smirked at me before turning back to face the road. "You shouldn't have mentioned it if you were not going to tell me. Now I'm going to be curious all day." I pouted, folding my arms and he chuckled at my misery. "Just be patience you will find out soon." We arrived at the same movie house we went to the last time. He led me toward a theater room where there was a banner of a romance movie titled Through my window. The guy standing outside checked our ticket before letting us in.

We made our way to the cabin, slipping inside through the broken door. The interior was dark and musty, the air thick with the smell of damp wood. It was small, just one room with an old, broken-down fireplace and a single window that had long since been shattered. Haines collapsed onto the floor, his body trembling with exhaustion. I leaned against the wall, my legs shaking as I tried to steady my breathing. The weight of everything we had been through pressed down on me, heavy and suffocating. My mind was a whirlwind of fear and exhaustion, but for the first time in what felt like hours, we had a moment to catch our breath.

They had some snacks in the living room, and when they were done they proceeded to the collection room. They met the room in a shade of cold blue lights. Frances saw ambiguous figures having alot of shadowy outlines and corners. He sensed she was getting uneasy and he put on the florescent lights. Things got clear and relaxing when he put on the lights. The room was kind of a gadget dump. She was very unfamiliar with the structures in it. The room seemed to be a dumping ground for failed prototypes. At one corner of the room, there was a compressor tank with thick copper wires coiled around it. Angelo waited for us a few steps ahead. "Mama! Look over there!" my daughter cried, pointing to the curb. A ragged man was rummaging through a trash bin. His dirty face looked like Giovanni's. When he noticed us, his eyes lit up, and he lurched toward us. "Get back!" another vagrant barked, shoving him down. "Are you trying to get us all chased out of here? If you touch that lady, we're the ones who'll pay for it!" A flurry of blows followed. Giovanni curled in on himself and went silent.

Camden gave Clayton a knowing look as she tried to supress her laughter while Clayton chuckled to himself before replying, "Yeah, I guess I'm just having an off day." They all dished up and then headed to the lounge where Matt had preselected a movie for them to watch. "I'm not sure whether either of you have seen it, but even if you have, it's worth watching again," he explained as he started the movie. The movie delved into the devastating consequences of addiction as it followed the lives of some young adults as they spiraled into despair due to drug abuse. The movie was both terrible and brilliant and they were all captivated by it from start to finish.

A cage stood in front of me, and inside were five ex-managers of clubs, gambling houses, and casinos, chained and handcuffed, bleeding and sobbing. I watched them, my sleeves folded to my elbows that were resting on my knees, and my body leaned forward. I observed the way their blood and sweat congealed, as well as the fear in their eyes as they all stared at me with pleading eyes. The fear in their eyes was insufficient. The blood, sweat, and tears dripping on the floor, forming tiny and large puddles, were not enough. The whimpers and cries—none of it was enough. I wanted more.

The street was dirty and run-down, with abandoned buildings and sketchy-looking individuals lurking in the shadows. “I don’t think this was such a good idea. You were right”, I whispered, my voice shaking. “This place looks dangerous.” Tasha nodded, her fear clearly written on her face. “Maybe we should just go back. We can just take this taxi back,” she suggested. I looked at her like she suddenly had two heads. What was the point? It was too late for that.
