Uglies By Scott Westerfeld Novels & Stories

Alpha Prince Saint The minute we round the corner we come face to face with around a dozen imprisoned wolves. The smell of wolfsbane and death coming from them is overwhelming and I need to fight to stop myself gagging. Looking over these people I realise they are in a bad way, starved, beaten and just in an all over bad state. We work in silence as we free them and show them where to go, some have a hard time walking and others still have the glint in their eyes, the look of bloodlust for revenge for the wrongs that have been done to them and their people.

It stumbles on the path and screams as the sunlight shines on it. Just like with the girl, the disgusting creature shifts back into a person. The boy falls onto his knees, gasping for air. His skin is sallow, and his bones protrude at awkward angles. I can’t find it in myself to pity him. Not when my mate is dead in my arms. The girl rushes to his side, attempting to help him to his feet. I growl in disgust. “Let’s go,” I command my warriors. They all shuffle on their feet. None are willing to move. “I said, let’s go.”

And then I saw them. The creatures pouring through the gaps were unlike anything I'd ever imagined. Later, after everything had fallen apart, the survivors tried to describe them—demons, they called them, or the Scourge. But "demon" is a word that demands some kind of comprehension, and I don't think any human mind was meant to comprehend what I saw that night.

She’s waving her arms around, screaming at the top of her lungs, while Jade dodges festival-goers, almost running over a green-skinned girl dressed as Elphaba from Wicked in the process. The car comes to a shrieking halt in front of us, and Kitty yells “GET IN!!!” as the backseat passenger door swings open. I jump out of Felix’s arms and tumble forward, hiking up my dress over my knees and crawling over Ben and Elliot on the backseat. Ben’s pirate hat and eyepatch are gone, but Elliot’s still in his full set of knight’s armour, and I shudder as my knees scrape over the cold metal. The pretty girl who was hanging out with them earlier is there too, squashed against the side door. Her long bro

They continued to fight again with each other with their own battle cries. “Now, what are you going to summon, sorcerer priest?” Eric nodded at his opponent in question. He imagined that if the sorcerer priest was not bald, his hair would all go standing up because of his anger. In a split second, the dust around him gathered up in the air. He then realized that they all turned into lice. Some already attacked the Nubians and the Medjays alike. The warriors cried because of the itch and their blood being sucked. Some of the lice went inside their ears, nose, mouth and eyes. And some even went inside their private parts, inside their loincloths.

Maybe too easily. My eyes stay on Emmett and Scott. They fight back to back: man and beast. Scott cuts throat after throat, and Emmett rips heads off with ease. I feel a shiver run up my spine, so I spin around. A lanky wolf is slipping through the fighting unnoticed. He looks terrible. Matted fur, no muscle, and half his tail is missing.

There was no 'us' in our future - We didn't have a future. By the goddess of creation, he is beautiful. I think while my eyes stay locked on him. Maybe not in your traditional way, but still, Kian's body tells a story, his scars weren’t a disfigurement to me, they were him, his map of life, everywhere he had been and everything he had experienced. And to me, that was sexy as all get out.

Badmus curved himself into a ball in a bud to find a little bit of the warmth that he could find in the prison cell where he lay. His whole body felt like it was burning. The weather was cold , very cold . Yet there was no dirt of provision for him to rest his head. For the past many days , he had been going through one torture to the other. But he had refused to yield . There was no way he was going to yield. The only worry he had in his mind was the arrival of Tamina. How was Ruckus able to find her ? Not just find her , he equally brought her. Perhaps, a kidnap scenario. But that was a call for war . Going I to another pack to get someone out without any proper methods if approach was a g

All the sensory glass doors, space elevators and sterilized steel labs, just to name a few, make the Ultara interior feel like a NASA station. Later we got to our very first class. We settled in our seats for World History and waited for the teacher to call the roll. Cammie came back and took a seat with me and Alyssa. The smirk on her face grew even more smirky as I stared at her and shook my head. Then the girl she went with earlier appeared with a flushed face. Her hazel eyes almost looked glassy as if she was high on crack. "Seriously?" I said. "Already on the first day of school?"

Sage shook his head, his face grim. “They all know we’re about to die. Some cannot accept it. Some have come to be with each other; some to console each other; others, though, to wreak havoc upon the world. They wish to make others suffer before they die. They will unleash a great terror on mankind, will go out in a burning blaze. None of them want to go quietly, not after two thousand years of living. They all want to go out with a bang.” Scarlet’s heart pounded, his words terrifying her.
