Uglies By Scott Westerfeld Novels & Stories

Four asked. "Danger ahead." Ren said sure of himself. He already locked on to what the beast was talking about. "Danger that we will like. Something to help with your cultivation Two." Up ahead a little lizard that looked like little Raptors moved around. They were eating the carcass of a much bigger one. Most likely their parent. Over to the side was an Ice Giant. It was covered in scars and missing half its body from the fight. Covered in thick fur with a club made of ice attached to its arm.

Kevin replied, "No way! You're the prettiest woman in Dainsclef Village." He tried to lift the blanket to look at me, yet I gripped it tightly. "Please—don't look at me!" Kevin had no choice but to wrap me and the blanket together in his arms. Even when I was living with the poor Larsons, I was well taken care of, with smooth, soft skin. But how could this emaciated woman with hollow eyes staring back at me now possibly be me? "Who said you're ugly? My lovely Cindy is the prettiest woman in the world!"

'Now, follow my voice, step by step,' Ulva instructed. Closing her eyes, Scarlett tried to discern the direction of the voice. Slowly, she moved toward it. 'You are doing good, Scar... Keep following,' Ulva encouraged. Her voice became progressively closer and clearer. Suddenly, a ray of light appeared. 'Follow the light, Scarlett,' Ulva urged, her tone now unmistakable. Scarlett followed the light, and soon, she encountered a magnificent creature with shining white fur and lavender eyes. This wolf surpassed even Alpha wolves in size. The creature wore a silver crown atop its head, enhancing its ethereal beauty. Scarlett couldn't tear her eyes away from the majestic sight.

Her voice bounced off the back of my head and reminded me that we were privy to an ignorant audience. "Your ladyship, this is Ulfgar Ungart. He is here to recieve my standard 3-year apprenticship. He's off to a bit of a rough start but for a dwarf he's showing quite a bit of dedication." replied Sir FreeFord. he gestured for me to proceed into the kitchen. I quickly bowed to the lady. "You may call me Ulf, your ladyship, if it pleases you. Is there anything in particular you would like me to make?" i asked as evenly as i could. Her very presence was having a physical affect on my self-control.

Then it devolved into pure, unadulterated chaos. The interior was a cathedral of decay. Rusted machinery cast long shadows in the light filtering through broken roof panels. The monsters were… wrong. They looked like boars, but their skin was scaled and glistening, their tusks dripping with a saliva that smoked where it hit the concrete. Their eyes were milky white, blind but somehow tracking us. Bryan was in his element, launching fireballs and laughing maniacally as he kited three of them around a giant, dead loom. “C’MON, UGLIES! RIGHT HERE!”

she started walking to the exit. "What I don't understand is why a goddess was living in a cave and left her diary here, and how we are here in the first place," Scarlette paused and looked at me over her shoulder with an expression that said ‘seriously?’. "Out of everything that has been happening since you came to Lúa Infinita, you're still pondering about the strange things in this world? What exactly do you find impossible? The part where you have a deadly ticking time bomb called a wolf inside you, your abnormal mate, a sugargod fairy– that doesn't even make sense. What's a sugargod fairy? It's senseless but she just conveniently exists and you just "happen" to be her master. Are you ki

No one would ever go to him for the cure. Hearing goristro mentioned caused Stefan’s breath to catch in his throat. Goristo was a large fiend monster with devilish abilities. Rumor was they were born of the sins of the world and were known for the pleasure they derived from the torment they inflicted. Stefan’s jaw clenched against the slim chance of Clarissa surviving one’s attack. “Who is her escort, Doc? You never told us anything about him.” Spock whined. The nasty guy said with a look of disdain. The twins turn their body and look who's the fella talking too. This person is one of the disgusting fellas here in Warshwall city, Motis. With a big build, scroungy body and a big scar on his forehead. The twins knew his not a good guy.

I didn’t even bother thanking her or saying goodbye, relieved that I’d never have to smell the disgusting mix of old lady perfume and cigarettes, or hear her raspy smoker’s voice, again. A few days later, on a warm Thursday in mid-August, Hugo drove me to his pack. We stopped at the entrance and exited the car, then we were brought to a small room. The werewolves who escorted us there wrinkled their noses at the sight of me, and I realized it must be my rogue smell. I let out a deep sigh.
