The man said weakly as he held out his hand. As everyone minus Jill reached out their hands to help him a smile creeped up on his face and Jill knowing something bad would happen and couldn’t stop it in time so she grabbed his hand as well and, in a flash, they were gone. The box itself that Jill was worried about had also disappeared and in a sudden flash of lightning the great infamous oak tree of Oaken Hills was struck.

"She's heading towards the ancient oak grove. We cannot let her reach whatever lurks within." Without hesitation, they sprinted after the witch, determination fueling their steps. The trees whipped past them in a blur as they raced through the dark forest. The ground shook beneath their feet, the resonance of the werewolf battle in the distance, but they couldn't let anything deter them from their mission. Finally, they arrived at the ancient oak grove, the towering trees casting eerie shadows in the moonlight. The air hummed with ancient power, as if the very forest held its breath, awaiting the outcome of this battle.

Amelia's POV As I made my way through the forest, the familiar sight of the towering oak tree greeted me like an old friend. Its gnarled branches reached out to me, casting dappled shadows upon the forest floor as if beckoning me closer. With each step, the soft crunch of leaves beneath my feet echoed through the tranquil air, a comforting melody that soothed my restless soul. The canopy above filtered the sunlight into a dappled mosaic of light and shadow, casting a sense of enchantment over the secluded grove where the ancient oak stood sentinel.

They needed to keep moving, to find ways to get out of the area. Anna guided Luna through the forested area until they reached a tiny clearing. Their movements were muted by a thick layer of fallen leaves beneath their feet. Luna couldn't ignore the feeling that they were being watched, but she knew Anna would keep them safe. A large, gnarled oak stood in the center of the clearing, shimmering in the moonlight. Anna approached the tree and spoke inaudibly beneath her breath. The trunk of the tree suddenly broke open, revealing a hidden corridor.

“He hasn’t released me.” “He will.” The certainty in her tone leaves no room for doubt. “What if he never does?” Her head tilts slightly. “He will.” Silence hums between us. “Where?...Where can i find you?” I ask. The clearing shifts. The trees blur and rearrange. The vision expands outward like a map unfurling. I see forest stretching westward denser, darker. A narrow trail barely visible beneath overgrowth. A river cutting through stone. Then a massive oak tree. Its trunk is split clean down the center, blackened along the jagged seam as if lightning once struck it from sky to root. The top half leans precariously but still lives, branches heavy with leaves.

The oak tree loomed over us all, an ancient monarch shivering on its last morning. Talon fired up the chainsaw again and pushed it into the wound. The blade screamed. Chips and dust flew at him, clinging to the sweat on his arms and face. Jake crouched at a careful distance, reading the fractures where the trunk was splitting. His voice was urgent — “Angle it! You’re veering right!” — and Talon corrected, sweat running in sheets down the back of his neck. The saw chewed deeper, and a shudder ran through the trunk. The leaves above began to rattle.
