We were thrust into a world of darkness, where danger lurked in every corner. As the mysterious figure melted back into the shadows, I turned my attention back to the girl lying beside me. Her eyes fluttered open, confusion etched on her face. I couldn't reveal everything just yet, not until I knew how far her trust reached. But as I watched her gaze linger on me, a glimmer of curiosity mixed with fear, I knew that our destinies were intertwined. Whether she was ready for it or not, she would play a pivotal role in the impending war between our kind.

But sometimes, destiny took unexpected turns, leading them to places they never imagined. As the first light of dawn began to break through the horizon, Aline turned to Ethan, her eyes sparkling with determination. "This is just the beginning, Ethan. Our journey is far from over." He said and the little boy grinned. “Of course, I am, Uncle Camera. You look good too.” He said. “Thank you, Duke, that's kind of you to say,” Cameron said. He had a ritual with Duke, always talking with him first before his father. They fist-bumped and then the boy walked back to his game. Instead of going for the Legos though, he picked up his iPad and started to play a game on it. It was a game his father designed just for him. How cool was that, huh?

I don’t need friends, I need information. I picked up the contract immediately and looked it over. To summarize, it included a schedule that I couldn’t defer from or it would be seen as treason, I’d have some one always with me escorting me everywhere I go and if I am seen alone it will constitute as treason, and I am not to engage with anyone in the pack or it will be, you guessed it, treasonous. I’ve traded one cell for another it seemed, but I couldn’t exactly blame them. I’m some random girl claiming to be a turned wolf who is not an enemy, with no family or anyone to prove it. Well I guess I’m not exactly random if he finds me familiar, now I just need to remember where I know him from.

"She—" "Betrayed you?" I turned off the recording. "Just like you betrayed me." "Interesting?" Dante knelt on the ground, his body weak, utterly defeated. "I really... have nothing left..." he mumbled. "No," I corrected him. "You still have your life." "Though I don't know how long you can keep it." As soon as I finished speaking, the sound of car engines came from a distance. Two black SUVs drove into the pier, their headlights blinding.

It was because of that jerk. She again remembered him, but she immediately brushed it off and focused on what is more important for now. “Oh, yes, I almost forgot. Here it is. Let’s check whether Theus was telling the truth or lying on us.” She gave the flash drive to Dash, and he inserted it into his computer. They both sat down on the chair as they started to watch the video.

The latter stared at me with fear in his eyes, his hands were shaking as his gaze fell to the floor. “Turns out you aren't good at taking orders after all,” I pointed my gun at him. The sound of bullets darting towards the man's flesh felt good in my ears. I fired several bullets before finally stopping. I left the room with a smirk on my lips. I dialled her number and waited, “I'm done here.” “Excellent job as always, Azalia,” - Meanwhile, Zakael Dela Priego and his friends were having a good time at Lucid Haven. It was Zakael’s birthday and there was no way his friends would let him get away without him spending money and buy them a few drinks.

Just as I opened my mouth to respond, a soft knock interrupted us. The door opened, revealing a man and woman I didn't recognize- Nathan looked over at them. "Jane," he said, "These are my parents." "Hello, Jane," the woman said with a warm smile. "I'm Lauren, and this is my husband, Alec. Alpha and Luna of the Moonlight Pack. We heard you were awake and wanted to check in." I looked at Nathan, and he gave me a nod. "Thank you," I said, offering a small smile. "I'm feeling much better."

Some part of him had simply moved and the rest of him had followed, and he was across the street and at the wreckage before his conscious mind had finished processing that there was wreckage to go to. The car had mounted the kerb and met the stone bollard with its front driver's side, which had crumpled inward in a way that made the geometry of the vehicle suddenly wrong. Steam rose from the hood. The windscreen had spiderwebbed but held. One headlight still worked; the other faced the sky at an incorrect angle.
