A girl in a white ruffled apron and a high ponytail asked. "We have your favorite cake in store, sir," she said, averting her gaze on her as if she just didn't ask for her order and as if he didn't just ignore them when he entered. "Really? Then I'll get two slices and coffee too, for her and mine," he smiled, motioning to Cleo. The girl bowed and said to wait while preparing their orders and Cleo silently groaned before simply looking around. The café has a retro and vintage vibe, thick books were piled on a bookshelf on the corner near the entrance and a painting of the sunflower of Vincent Van Gogh was placed beside it and another that looked like a lonely girl who has tears in her eyes.

I need to get out of here soon. “Cmon, let's grab something before we have some fun.” She walked ahead to the cafe on the second floor. We had our coffee with my favourite cheesecake. I excused myself to the washroom. I flushed out my heavy bladder and washed my face. I was setting my hair in the mirror when I felt a ghostly presence behind me. Slowly I raised my eyes and was shocked to see the same vampire woman. What scared me more was her red eyes with the veins appearing under her eyes prominent and her face was ashen. She showed me her sharp fangs and an abrupt scream left my mouth but she grabbed me and slammed me to the wall before glaring at me for the disturbance.

If she’s worried about eavesdroppers, she already knows this is serious. I close my eyes and take another deep breath. “Do you mind if we move to a place where no one will hear?” She looks thoughtful for a minute, tapping her chin with her free hand. “Oh, yeah. There is a private chat room in this cafe. It’s sealed proof, tied by magical barriers so not even werewolf hearing senses can pick it up. It’s for high-level meetings. The owner of the cafe is a supernatural. You want to go there?” I nod my head quickly, the urgency thrumming through me. “Yeah, sure. Please.”

The place seemed to serve blood alongside a regular meal. Nevea entered the cafe, and instantly, the smell of freshly cooked toast and a cup of coffee mixed with blood was so thick in the air. She inhaled deeply and strangely found the mixture of the aroma pleasing. She went to the counter and placed her order, then went straight to sit beside a table of four people that she noticed were taken by two vampires and two humans. "Have you heard about the project to turn humans into vampires?" The human with a skinny body asked. Nevea would remember him as human number one.
