To us, we pretty much smell the same.” He tucked a few stray strands of hair behind my ear. “But we’re also the most dangerous of predators in this world. Our scents are adapted to lure in our prey.” “And by prey, you mean innocent little girls with big blue eyes and short dresses?” I smirked. He kissed me instead, drowning me in a pool of sensation that made heat travel to my core, and parted only when I was limp and breathless. Then he whispered into my ear, “I think it’s time you find out exactly how I devour my prey.”

I don't remember having a sacred book with me. Hold on. Could it be the book that I thought belonged to my mom? "It's the book you almost destroyed," he informed me. Oh, maybe that's why he texted me to not tear it up. At that time I was so confused and thought he was a stalker. Little did I know he was actually a blood-sucking demon. Or was he? "Since you're a vampire, do you drink blood?" I asked because from what I know, they're always thirsty for blood and he hasn't shown any sign of that.

I folded my hands across my chest and frowned at him in both confusion and annoyance. "Stop-just-" Alex huffed in frustration before covering his face with his hands and letting out a sigh in exasperation. I was about to say something else too but stopped when I heard a few girls groan and my eyes snapped towards the crowd. I noticed Joey, Franklin,danny and other vampires digging their fangs into the girls neck, sucking them hungrily and I could feel my eyes widening at the sight. They were doing it in public? Why? It was already getting dark, we were supposed to go home.

It was because time decided to slow down the second time I twirled her, giving my body time to overtake my mind once again and decide that I was going to dip her. It was because of how she gracefully hooked her hands behind my neck, like she was the master of an art that she had never tried before. And that smile. That damn smile she gave me. That damn perfect smile. That's where I lost it. I let out a deep sigh, turning the water down to its coolest temperature. I've been on this earth for over four centuries and never have I once felt something like that in regards to someone else. Vampires are greedy creatures. We see something that we want and we take it. That's just how we work.

I was completely out of control. Even if Geo tried to resist, I question if he could have fought me off. He may have been a one-thousand-year-old vampire, but I had the strength and power of a newbie with sexual needs that demanded satiating. One of the things I’d read and heard about vampires in the folklore while growing up was that, for the first few months after their transition, the newly made vampire possessed incredible strength that would rival the oldest of vampires. This was one tale that proved to be true. I held Geo in such a vice grip and devoured his lips with such passionate aggression that he grunted in discomfort rather than the lustful ecstasy I was experiencing.

The woman is still sound asleep, I undress her, i need her dress, as mine tore when i shifted, i bite her neck and drain as much blood as quickly as I can. I bite my wrist and put it to her mouth just so she heals and no one knows she was killed by a vampire, I then get Nova to dig a hole, bury her and put her dress on. This is it, I need to find my mate, I head back toward the town and pick up his scent, following it away from the town. I travel until dawn, I'm getting tired, I need to rest, but Nova is getting antsy, this tells me my mate is near, she is running circles in my head.

“But I guess we can try to get to know each other a little better-” Before I could finish, he yanked me into his arms. My eyes widened and my face grew hot. I let out a small whimper, which made him loosen his arms around me and I pulled slightly away to look at him. His normally cheerful hazel eyes had changed their color to a darker shade. I gulped. “I said t-try knowing each other first!” I cried out in alarm. My hands flew to his chest to push him away but it was futile. Damn pureblooded vampires!

Yet, I, like an idiot, gave in to her temptation. I scrub my face, as frustration fills my mind. Let's assume she got carried away in the heat of the moment because she is a 22-year-old human whose hormones dance in full swing. But what about me? A 500-year-old vampire, reacting like a teenager?
