My hand started to hurt, but I didn’t flinch. “Let me go,” I said, my voice low and steady. “Unless you want the whole school to hear how a vampire is grabbing a human girl like she’s some kind of pet. A poor, weak girl who’s in love with someone else, but the big bad vampire just can’t let her be happy. Is that what you want people to hear?” He leaned in closer. I could see the way his jaw ticked, how his eyes burned. “Then scream,” he said. “Scream, Rowena. Go ahead.”

She believed sometimes knowledge and curiosity would put someone's life at risk and she didn't want to drag anyone along with her crazy obsession about supernatural beings. With her secret collection, she knew that the prominent kind residing with humans were vampires. They were categorized in three categories. Pureblooded were those who were born as vampires with parents who were both vampires, they were the strongest. Turned vampires, humans who went through transition. And half-vampires, those who were fruits of the union of vampires and humans.

Something she could only imagine existed in books and movies. A pair of red eyes and two long fangs that stuck out of the mouth as though they were always meant to be there. Except there was no blood dripping from his mouth as always described in books. Yet, she was still scared senseless at the sight of a living, vampire right in front of her eyes. He moved closer to her again but this time, she was prepared and understood what he was. She lunged on her feet in fright and prepared to flee. But she had barely moved two steps when that figure appeared in front of her again.

I'm just as drawn to him as I was before. “So…” I lick my lips. “If you’re a vampire, then what? Everyone at Hawthorn is?” “Some people are werewolves. Some are witches and warlocks. Some people are… other things.” My breathing becomes sharp. I know my ribs must still hurt, but it’s like I can’t feel anything happening in my body right now. “So Alice told the truth about that?” I ask. “And about Silver Hunters?” Alec’s red eyes sharpen. “You don’t want to run into a Silver Hunter.”

Eva watched them from a distance, looking worried. "Then maybe you can lend it to me. I'll read it fast and give it back to you so you can put it on your shelf." He narrowed his eyes. "Do you like to read about monsters?" She nodded, "Yes. It seems like we have the same taste." Angelica wondered why he picked this particular book. She could hear him say the title 'the monster is me' in his dark husky voice. She would have believed him had he said so. Lord Rayven ignored her and went to pay for the book. The seller's eyes widened and his hands trembled slightly as he received his money. A sigh left his lips once Lord Rayven walked out of the shop.

“Then he remembered the look in her eyes. He could tell she was still very young, but she was undeniably attractive. Even though she looked unkept and beaten, one could not deny that she was a beautiful girl. He stood up from his desk and went towards the door, but as soon as his hand touched the doornob, he paused. “She'll want to rest” He thought and dropped his hand. Just as he was walking back to his desk, his door found open and he turned to see who it was. “Yo!! I still can't believe you actually found her”. Simon said and Urian sighed before going to sit on the couch instead as he was very sure this brother of his was definitely not leaving now. Unlike Urian, Simon was a plain lycan.
