The smell was that of a vampire, and this one was like that of a killer. I sniffed, and the scent hit me harder, urging every part of my instinct to run and seek cover. The vampire scent was a potent one, and I could figure out they weren't one, two, or three. It was like a group, and the scent was oozing from different angles, yet it all seemed to be directed to where I stood.

He had scanned everyone before, realizing no one else smelled anything but him. The smell was not the scent of human blood. No, this was different. Sarim had smelled it since he’d returned to Varlancia, the central vampiric quarters, two weeks ago. The scent permeated the air he breathed, making his body go into alert mode. This blood type had a scent which brought out monstrosity in vampires and a celestial taste stronger than ancient wine. It wasn't easy for any vampire to keep their composures in its presence, if it was any regular vampire they would have started acting like drunks right from the scent, it took great efforts to remain sane with the blood type. It's a good thing that it was only sparingly available for the nobles.

Something that made the hair on the back of our neck stand up.

It was still pumping in his hand before it went still. Lilith could tell the situation outside was dire. She could smell the metallic scent of blood lingering in the air. It was so nauseous, Lilith felt bile rise up her throat. It was as if she wasn't used to the smell of blood at all. It was too strong for her nose. A blood-curling scream sounded from afar. She's the chosen one so she'd naturally feel attached to our species without even knowing. "Uhm, do you want me to set up a bed for you?" She asked me. "I wouldn't be sleeping." "So you're just going to sit there and watch me sleep?" "Basically. Or I could lay on the bed with you if you'd like." I shot her a smirk knowing full well what effect it had on her. Vampires could sense pretty well human emotions. She took a dazed glance at my lips then refocused back on my eyes. "N-no there would be more than fine." With that, she hopped on her bed and grabbed her laptop making me frown while watching her silently.
