After alighting to open the door for Frost, Leo took a step towards the hotel before hearing his boss calling out. "Did you remember to take care of the emendations in the contract? Asked Frost. Leo gave a nod and they proceeded to the reception area. Even before inquiring, the receptionist, in a light red blazer and matching pleated skirt, went forward and, with a slight bow, asked if they were there to see Mr. Vanross. Leo affirmed, and the receptionist led them towards the special elevator that would take them up to the rooftop where Mr. Vanross, popularly known as Mr. V, was waiting for them.

To pull out a gun and force him to sign. But he doesn't. Instead, his cell phone suddenly vibrates violently in his pocket. He pulls it out, his eyes scanning the screen. The encrypted notification is flashing red. I can see the words from where I'm standing. CRITICAL BREACH. VAULT 01 TOTAL DRAIN. Vane's hand immediately drops to the grip of his weapon. His eyes shift around the quiet library, scanning the shadows like he's expecting an ambush.

"The red square just sent a code. It's a armored SUV, Victor. Its registered to the Vanguard Directorate, a security firm, from Switzerland." I felt the room spinning. *Switzerland.* That's where Michael Vales secret account was. The dark red square turned sharply to the left. The blue dot stopped moving. A loud siren filled the room. *ALERT: VEHICLE INTERCEPT DETECTED. SATELLITE CONNECTION LOST. LIVE GRID LOSS IN FIVE SECONDS.*

Two dead me‍rcenaries lay in the nar‌row corridor ahead of hi‌m, but thr‌ee‍ more were pinned down‌ b‍eh‌ind a stack of oak aging barrels at the far end of the vau‌lt entr‌ance. ‎T‌he vau‍lt door itself was a massive circular block of t‍itanium and s‌teel, built directly into the bed‌rock of the Berks‌h‍ire hil‌ls. It required both a bi‌ometric footprint and a synchronized alphanumeric cipher—the very things Damien had just secured from the board.

The deeper levels weren’t patrolled as often, and even if she got caught, she’d scramble the memories of whoever found her. She slipped past steel doors and into a freezing corridor lined with containment chambers. This was the Storm Vault — where Velgrave kept its most dangerous secrets. Inside one cell, she saw a girl with lightning dancing across her skin. In another, a boy muttering to himself, rewriting reality with words. And in the last room… A mirror. Just a mirror. But when she stepped closer, it flickered. Her reflection blinked — and showed her another version of herself. Older. Colder. Wearing a black sigil across her chest. The emblem read: HALO UNIT 9.

Full dark would follow with the kind of speed that did not care about preparation. Caius started the engine again. “Facility 9 is on the restricted industrial list,” he said. “We will not walk in through the front.” “We will not need to,” I said. “They have opened a window. They want me to step through it. The only question is what they take in exchange when I do.” Valen’s voice was quiet. “And whether the token still answers to your blood once it has been held by the other side for this long.”

"How did you... the vault..." "Vault 409 is empty, Victor," Max announced smoothly, taking a slow step forward onto the yacht's gangway. "Or rather, it contains nothing but a pile of fresh ash. Your founding share certificates no longer exist. The Crane board has revoked your legacy status. You have no money, no authority, and no army left to command."

Ralph asks while he also rummages his backpack, trying to find something to open it. "Hmm...Let see." Renee uses her compact powder and blows it to the keypad on the vault door. In a second, there's a trace of a fingerprint start to form on it. Ralph takes the notes of the number and starts to decipher it. After a minute, he says, "Try 229670." Renee pushes the button as Ralph instructed. Click! She looks at him with disbelief. "Seriously?" "I know you must be proud because your boyfriend is a genius, right?" He lifts up his eyebrow and touches his nose a bit—acting arrogant.

Cassian Vale is still visible through the glass corridor. Julian Vale’s voice lowers. “Eva Monroe has to decide whether Cassian Vale built a cage…” “…or a shield that started cutting in too deep.” Later. Eva is alone again in the archive room. The system is still open. This time Eva doesn’t hesitate scrolling. She already knows where to look, hidden beneath three layers of encryption. Barely visible unless you know the pattern. CLAUSE 9B Eva reaches out. Finger hovering just above the activation field.

“No windows at all. Looks like the only way in is through an underground garage. Guards everywhere. The place is locked down like a fortress. Not sure what the smartest move is. She’s got serious protection.” My phone chirped again, Valerian calling. “Marcus, hold on. Valerian is on the line.” I switched over. “What’ve you got?” He sounded pissed and frustrated. “I found the vault.” “Why do you sound like that’s bad news?” Valerian let out a long breath. “I went down into the lower levels of the castle. It’s a freaking maze, tunnels and passages everywhere, most of them ancient. Only a handful even have electric lights. I tailed a couple of guards down one of the longest ones, staying in the
