Not All Who Wander Are Lost

Not All Who Wander Are Lost

******************** | Hollis | “Mmmmm...this is pretty damn good, what is it?” Whitney leaned back into Hollis’ inviting arms, taking another hearty drink from the rich dark liquid in the simple glass it was served in. Ice clinked at the bottom of the alcoholic beverage as she did so. Two lemon wedges were placed strategically at the rim for a classic look, and Hollis enjoyed watching her girlfriend moan when she pulled the glass away from her full lips with a sigh. The rum based drink accompanied with sweet vermouth and citrus turned out to be a great choice. Just like she knew it would be.

The Ends of in Between

The Ends of in Between

Her vision is now very foggy and close to becoming opaque. With eyes overflowing with tears, Connie took another gulp of her second bottle of Devil Springs Vodka. The bottle is now half empty and she hated the sight of it about to run out because she had none left to spare. ‘Maybe buying only two bottles had been a terrible idea. I should’ve bought more.’ Connie had this in mind at the same time she is mentally scolding herself.

COUNTER MEASURES

“Just let me finish this. Drink?” “Yes, please.” I said and we sat down and waited. He beckoned to the barman who came over almost at once. “Detective Inspector?” “Lemonade and lime,” he smiled, “I’m on duty.” “A pint of Calvors 3.8,” I said. “I’m not.” “And I’ll have a whisky and soda, James,” Sir William said.

We then settle in the living room—me on the sofa, the detective in the armchair across from me. Emi remains standing, positioned just behind my shoulder with her arms folded across her chest. After everything that’s been going on, she’s not playing games, either. And, dare I say, I’m becoming increasingly glad to have her by my side, even regretting the initial annoyance I felt toward her constant presence when she was first hired. “Miss Willford, I’m investigating the poisoning of your cousin, Veronica Willford, that occurred during the Solstice Ceremony,” the detective begins, ignoring the steaming cup of tea I’ve just placed in front of him. “I’d like to ask you a few questions about that

Bitter Sweet Love

Bitter Sweet Love

The female waiter asked. Miranda shifted her gaze from the waiter to Mervin. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Mervin was feeling uneasy with how Miranda was staring at her. She looked like a joker trying to play a prank on him "What drink do you suggest I order?" Miranda bit her lower lip and blinked twice. She looked like a doll "A Coke, ice, and lemon please," Mervin said, facing the waiter. Mervin picked up his phone which was pressed on the table earlier and unlocked the screen.

My Billionaire Ex-Husband Wants Me Back

“Don't worry, we are currently on it, he should be arrested before the end of tomorrow. Detective Conan reassured. “Max Sanders will not go scot-free. Not on my watch at least.” “Very well then. I will take your word for it.” Detective Conan stood up. “Alright, I have to be on my way now. I will inform you about any latest development.” “I will be expecting it,” I said, as we shook hands. “Thanks for your service.” Moments after the detective left, my phone vibrated with a call from Liam which I answered. “Hey, brother,” He uttered, and I scoffed. “How's it going?” “Good,” I replied, deciding to ignore everything that was related to Max Sanders and his barbaric acts. “You? How's work?”

he inquired. "Are you available today?" I queried. "Yes," he said. "Then let's go," I speculated. Dimitri smiled animatedly when he heard my offer to come, which I started to notice from my peripheral vision. He had always enjoyed mysteries and investigating crimes. "Detective Conan, you say?" I remarked satirically. Dimitri burst out laughing at my joke as we started to leave the room and made our way to the parking garage where my car is parked.

Married in the Shadow of My Best Friend

I headed to the counter to sit, it was a lot better than getting a regular seat honestly. “ Do you have Cynar or Amaro?” I placed my order. “ We have none, ma'am but we do have vermouth,” the bartender answered. “ Why don't you just get regular alcohol?” A guy besides who I hadn't noticed spoke. “ Wait, are you... Are you Lucas?” I squinted my eyes. “ How do you know me?” He asked. “ Let's just say I know your brother pretty well,” I nodded my head as I grabbed my glass of vermouth.

Versa's replies sluggish and he seemed to be sweating profusely. “That's why i always bring water too,” After saying this, he looked at the old man for a moment. — in every especially situation like this.” He added and grinned when he saw the blinking eyes of the detective. “What… what did you drink… to me.” And he completely lost consciousness. Philip or his real name, Rico, smiled. He leaned his back on the seat as he watched the unconscious old detective. “You already know too much, old man. It's time for you to rest first,” he said and he smiled again.

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

Felicity's expression turned sour. "You ordered this?" Vermont coughed. "Well, I've eaten a few of your meals. I'm paying you back with this." Felicity gave a mocking laugh. 'If Keegan were not here, I would have hit Vermont!' Holding the alcohol, Vermont walked to her. He whispered, "This is year eighty-two Lafite. Am I sincere enough?" Felicity's expression changed subtly. She glanced at the alcohol that he was holding. Its packaging was indeed exactly the same as the one she saw on the set.

I am on chapter 1700 and trust me this has to be the only book here that I have not lost interest in,i.e, the chapters have not dragged on and you literally are on the edge of your seat throughout the book. Enjoyed the whole book except the last few chapters.Hope the story doesn't become cliched now

What makes this story good are the characters, mainly the lead characters. Unlike other stories where the leads are usually portrayed as someone omnipotent with multiple hidden excellent identities, both Stella and Keegan have their own flaws and weaknesses, which made their characters more charming

Frequently Asked Questions

I've always been fascinated by the twisted chemistry between Vermouth and Conan in 'Detective Conan'. The 'Black Organization vs. FBI' arc is a standout, where Vermouth's dual identity as Sharon Vineyard adds layers to her menace. She toys with Conan, knowing his secret but keeping it close, which creates this electric tension. Their interactions are like a chess game—she could destroy him but chooses to dance around it, maybe out of curiosity or respect.

Another memorable moment is the 'Mystery Train' arc. Vermouth's ruthlessness shines when she nearly kills Haibara, yet she spares Conan, again blurring the lines between enemy and something more ambiguous. The way she calls him 'Cool Guy' with that mix of mockery and admiration is chilling. It's not just danger; it's a cat-and-mouse dynamic where both players are equally matched, and that's what makes it magnetic.
