I closed my eyes for a moment before I decided to take a bath. I dragged myself out of bed and stumbled over to the mirror, still half-asleep. As I stared at my reflection, something felt off. I blinked several times, trying to focus. My white hair strands—the ones that had always been there in small streaks—were longer. Much longer. And there were more patches of white spread throughout my hair, giving it an eerie contrast against the rest of my dark locks. I ran my fingers through it, confused. It wasn’t like this yesterday, was it?

"What about you dad? Aren't you coming with me? Don't you want to see mom and speak with her? You've been gone for too long." "I am always with you. I love you, Kaitlyn, I'll always love you...." I remember the rain. Loud. Relentless. Like it was trying to erase something. Or someone. I remember laughing. I remember headlights. Then— Nothing. --- When I wake, everything is white. White ceiling. White sheets. White noise humming from machines I don’t recognize. My head feels split open. Stitched back together wrong. There’s something in my hand. Warm. Heavy. Familiar. I turn my head. And see him. Asleep in the chair beside my bed.

Wednesday I woke up all sweaty and warm with my hair almost strangling me. I reached for my phone to check my messages and the time; it was noon already. I’m not a sloth or anything; don’t get me wrong. I usually wake up early for school, but today was different because I’m suspended for talking back to a teacher. I DID wake up early today; it’s just that I have nothing to do but sulk and ended up falling asleep.

Weruche woke up the next day with a slight headache, and she was feeling disoriented. Everything seemed a bit odd. To start with, the bed was empty. Normally, she got up wey before her mother, her mother wasn't even supposed to be up and about so early, she needed her rest. The room was too bright, the sunlight streaming in from the window blinding her. She snatched her phone and checked the time, it was already eleven o'clock in the morning.

So I went to the bathroom and spent hours on end taking care of my body. I came out feeling nice and different. A definite improvement. The white gown I saw on my bed gave me pause, that...had not been there when u woke up this morning. There was as no more and nothing to say that someone had kept it, but it was obviously meant for me to wear so I did. I mean why white though? It was such....a different colour and the contract with the dark background was very noticeable. I would definitely stand out if I went somewhere. Maybe that was the whole point.

Every part of my brain hurt, like it was being pulled taut from every direction possible, and the worst part, there wasn't a lot I could do about it. I was barely coming in terms with that when I picked up something else. It was faint, but then came the awareness of voices. They were muffled and thick, like they were speaking through water. I didn't know what to expect after that, but best believe I didn't think a cold cloth being stabbed at my forehead to be the next thing that followed. “She’s waking.” Someone spoke up. That voice… soft, too soft, I just had to force my eyes open. White light burned into my eyes, all around me, shadows sharpened into shapes, and then I saw them. Although,

When she woke again, she was lying on a hospital bed. The damning images from the black box surged back into her mind. She yanked out her IV needle in a blind frenzy. A nurse, catching sight of her wild struggle, quickly restrained her, shouting for a doctor to sedate her. "I want to see Kurt…" … I was at home, recovering, when my phone wouldn't stop ringing. My mother, finally unable to bear the noise, urged me softly. "Who keeps calling? Could it be something urgent?" I glanced at the glowing screen. That number—I could recognize it with my eyes closed.

I float off to sleep to the sounds of her whimpering in my head while I cry into the pillow. To my surprise, my alarm wakes me in the morning. Lex makes me promise to hang on for one more day. We go through the motions of the life I hate. While I'm getting ready, I look in the mirror to find my hair is completely silvery white now. I tuck it into a bun to try to avoid people noticing it.

Everything flashed fast, the only thing remain in my head was the desire to wipe Hana off from this earth. "I will kill you Hana, I will kill you..." *** I don't know what happened after that, but suddenly I woke up in a strange place. A place that is only dominated by white. No matter how far I looked, only white was visible. “Where.. Where.. Where am I?” Panic overtook me. Waking up in a strange place is not a good thing. Moreover, there is only white color surrounding me. I immediately sat up and started walking, trying to figure out where I was. But in vain, no matter how far I walked, only endless white was visible.
