The wolves lingered to recuperate before we had to honor the dead officially. A monument was constructed in the same courtyard where I had played with Jax. Thirty names of fallen soldiers, shifters, and witches were engraved in the stone. I avoided reading their names, keeping the consequences of war unreal. This girl had limits.
