I said, breaking the silence. “Yes,” Kat said, and I hid a grin. She was going to have to work on this social thing. “How many dead and injured?” I asked. I had been helping with the removal of the fallen before I was summoned by Izzy to find Kat. “So far, eighteen dead. Thirty injured beyond what their wolf could heal.” He looked at me curiously. “Sir, I heard that you were stabbed. Forgive me for asking, but I’ve never met a werebear before. Does your bear heal your wounds?”

The problem in front of them was. He looked around. The battle had caused many more of his warriors to fall. The annoying part was that they weren't killed on the spot. The creatures just rendered them immobile and infected with poison in the fangs and claws left to suffer. “Let's end this, and go home,” he said, shifting once again. Far beyond the battlefield, Rhea and Scarlett arrived at the pack hospital. The scent of blood and disinfectants hung heavy in the air. Rhea scrunched her nose as a wave of nausea hit her.

It has been two years and a few months now since the war between Shelbrooke and Vampire City began. The were-cats have been attacking the city constantly and they had done a lot of damage already. He was just as angry and pissed off as I was. "You need to wash yourselves first," the nurse said as she lowered her gaze. “We need to make sure you both are extremely clean." "Shower?" I asked. "Yes," she nodded. "She got an infection while she was subjected to the floor. We can't risk any more infections." Alaric and I looked at each other in shock. “If she catches any more risks of infection, it could kill her! Her wolf is already weak too. We do not need something that would make it worse.”

About fifteen cats are laying out in the afternoon sun, grooming and enjoying one another’s company. “Are we good?” he asks as I step into the lobby. “I think so. I gave him Conner’s name and address. I was told they would send someone out today as soon as they get an order signed. I also told him to call me once they have Goldie. I’m going to cover her vet bills and take on her care myself,” I reply, holding the door open so he can walk out.

Marian told him and he nodded. She began telling him about the injuries of their warriors including those of alpha Nathaniel. By the time she was done his drip was almost finished, ten minutes later the drip was finished. Austin left the hospital feeling better and the pain killers were also helping. He has ten dead warriors and five that are badly injured. This happened when they were still fighting alone.

Below them, a sea of subordinates stood in suffocating silence. “The Wild Cat Crew has faced an influx of threats,” Armani’s voice sliced through the room like a blade. “And we do not tolerate weakness.” In the back of the hall, Riley leaned toward Skylar, her voice a jagged whisper. “Wait—this ‘crew’ is actually called the Wild Cats?” “Keep your voice down,” Skylar hissed, her eyes darting nervously. “And yes. It’s an honor.” Riley let out a sharp, mocking scoff. “An honor? It’s pathetic. It’s lame.”
